Ahhh... this was brought up again??? Amazing. They don't let a sleeping dog lay, do they? Just voted out last session, they are insistant on bringing it back this session.
However, speaking from a person who is well underpaid for what I do and struggling to make ends meet, I would certainly appreciate a forced look at increasing the pay to meet the demands of the cost of living.
That being said though, the trickle down theory also applies. Eventually, it trickles down and the companies/manufacturers have to absorb the costs somewhere and it again cycles to the higher costs for the consumers.
Will we ever find a true balance?? That remains to be seen....
