There is no shame in admitting that not everyone is an expert when it comes to choosing women's clothing. There are those women who can walk into any department store and find the absolute perfect outfit for their body type and on trend for that year. On the other end of the spectrum there are women who require a bit of help, and this is what we are here for!

1. Flare bottoms are out for this year but skinny jeans, leggings and cargo pants are definitely in. Trade in your old ripped jeans for a dark worn wash. The darker the better for this upcoming fashion year and worn is preferred to the holes we have been seeing in the recent past.

2. Comfort in women's clothing seems to have trumped glamour as of late. What this means is the tight knit tops are out for the time being and breezy sheers, loose knit sweaters and even the original cotton t-shirts. Cottons and the softest of materials is a great base to any casual wear ensemble.

3. It's time to get rid of your bulky winter gear and replace it with the warmth and style of a peacoat. There are dozens of different styled peacoats on the market today and each one can keep you warm and looking great for the new winter season.

4. It is important to acknowledge and be aware of your body type. Just because something is all the rage this season doesn't mean it will flatter every body type. Trial and error is the answer to this and learning what accentuates your good characteristics as well as the bad.

5. Are you into layering yet? Get rid of your huge bulky sweaters and layer your tank tops, henleys and v-necks to get started.

6. Deep and bold colors are no longer the first choice of retailers today but instead soft neutrals have taken over. The great thing about neutral colors is that they can be matched with glamour or casual styles.

7. The new attitude of women's fashion is less means more. If it takes a lot of work to put your outfit together, get rid of it! Women's casual wear needs to not only suit your personality but be simple yet elegant.

8. In addition to the new layering rule, to add a subtle yet superb change to your style add a leather jacket for the top layer. Replace your favourite sweat shirt with an eye-catching leather jacket and your style completely changes.

9. Black and white is in! The great thing about black and white is that it can be both casual wear and evening wear when paired with the right accessories.

10. Do you still head out to the malls for hours at a time to shop? This is a thing of the past! The internet is a wonderful thing and can save you a lot of time shopping and provide you the same results.

Prom Dress Fashion Tips

Prom time is here again. You pay for your ticket, grab a dress, and go, right? Seems simple, right? Wrong! Prom can be a whirlwind experience that requires a lot of primping and preparation. Not every girl can just waltz in a store, run to the first rack they see, and come out with a fabulous prom dress right away. There are also some girls uneasy with the selection they see at some stores that don't seem to cater to their personal sense of style. You can always look through prom magazines and celebrity pictures for inspiration but the real style inspiration starts with yourself! Just because prom is a glamorous event doesn't mean that you have to compromise your own, unique sense of fashion to blend in with everyone else. Prom isn't just for cheerleaders and beauty queens. Here's how to make your look your own on prom night:

Rock Goddess
Prom may seem like the last place any punk rocker would be caught dead at, especially in a floor length pink gown. With a sense of style that some may already label as "anti-trendy", it may cause a little bit of nervousness to think about being constricted to a girly dress that doesn't speak to your own grungy sense of fashion. You don't spend time lusting over the pages of VOGUE magazine and shopping at teen stores in the mall. You aren't late for school in the morning dolling yourself up in the mirror with MAC makeup and curling every follicle of hair just right. You have instead sculpted your own, comfortable wardrobe consisting of jeans, rocker t-shirts, hoodies, and sneakers that were meant to get dirty. Prom should be about individuality and that has always come natural to you, so let your style speak for itself. Not every prom dress on the market is all about frills and bows. Try a short prom dress in a plaid or striped print or a cut glass sweetheart sequin bust with a tulle skirt, an essential rockstar look. If you're not a fun of a full skirt there are plenty of options for fitted, short prom dress accented allover with beading, spikes, and studs that are perfect for any punk princess. If the dress is fine, but you're not accustomed to wearing heels go outside the norm and wear flats or even Converse or flat, Doc Marten style boots instead. Check out Sherri Hill and Mac Duggal for sassy baby doll prom dresses. Avril Lavigne and Kristen Stewart have perfected this tomboy-chic look and have become known for the punk rock, red carpet style. Throw on a leather jacket for added pizazz and you're ready to go!

Flower Child
Is your style more reminiscent of a more groovy time in life? If Woodstock photographs and The Beatles posters clutter your walls and you are never seen without your guitar and a flower in your hair (shoes optional) you may be a love child of the 60's. Sure, you weren't born in the 60's but you're style reflects that to a tee. You are all about recycling and world peace. Prom may just seem like a waste of time and money, world of superficial glamour while you're just fine with your flowy sundresses and organic fabrics. But not every prom dress is fitted and constricting. There are plenty of options for a breezy dress that is not only comfortable but very chic. Try an A-line silhouette prom dress in a flower or butterfly print pattern with a one shouldered or strapless bust in a light, breezy fabric. You get many more choices for accessories and shoes with a multicolored prom dress. Heels are great for prom, but if you want to stick to your comfortable look, try flat gladiator sandals decorated with jewels. Adorn your hair with rosettes or feathers, and you'll look like an earth angel, prom style! La Femme and Jovani carry many beautiful printed prom dresses. Celebrity wise, Kate Hudson and Nicole Richie always look polished, but add their own elements of boho-chic to their look whenever they're on the scene.

Quirky Queen
What if your style can't be merely defined in a few words? One day you may want to look like a disco diva in a metallic dress and platform boots and the next a child of the 80's in a mismatched, highlighter ensemble with tights and piled on accessories? You love fashion you don't necessarily follow trends, but rather create your own and most importantly you're not afraid to try any style. Though your clothing choices may leave even your own parents scratching their head at times, whatever you wear, you OWN the look. Prom is no different. Leave them speechless in a floor length, column silhouette prom dress with a removable tulle breakaway skirt. So versatile that you can create your own magic trick by starting the night with the tulle overlay attached, run to the restroom near the end of the dance, remove the tulle skirt and viola, a whole new dress! This style also comes in the form of a short, baby doll dress too. Lattice style back designs and cut outs also add an interesting appeal to any dress. Tony Bowls and Terani are just noted examples of designers who constantly bring fresh and funky designs to the prom market. Wear a fun hairband or bow accessories in your hair with color contrasting, piled on bracelets and rings. Instead of basic heels, try out booties instead. Take a page from the style book of fearless fashionistas like Katy Perry and Rihanna who never play by the rules when it comes to their own unique sense of fashion.

Play up your best features with the prom dress of choice in your specific style of dress. Part of what makes a girl confident and sexy is always staying true to who she is, not what others want her to be. Keep these simple tips in mind and happy shopping! See more at: Cheap prom dresses uk

Most women have dreamed about the day they would walk down the aisle since they were girls. Now they are engaged and the wedding day is approaching, it is time to start looking for the perfect wedding dress.

The first step is to start your search at least six months ahead of time. Remember, if you have to special order a wedding dress then it could take months not including the time for alterations. Just give yourself plenty of time just in case something unexpected comes up.

(Photo: Cheap short prom dresses)

Step 2 is to make a list of all the wedding dresses you like from magazines, stores, websites and any other place you have looked. The best way is to create a folder and keep pictures of all the dresses and keep notes on the dress with the picture. If you like a dress but you would change something about it then keep notes so you won't forget.

Step 3 is to start narrowing down your choice of wedding dress by choosing a style that is appropriate for the ceremony. Depending on your wedding style you might want to go with a formal evening wedding dress that is floor-length, in an ivory, white or cream color, a semi-formal dress that is without the train, or a less formal dress that may be shorter or even a two piece suit. There are many styles and colors to choose from and the sooner you choose the style the quicker you can start choosing the dress and doing the alterations.

The next step, step 4, is to start searching for the dress. Don't rule out department stores as they have a wide variety of styles to choose from. Make sure you take an honest person you trust with you to give you the feedback you may not want to hear but you need to hear. Sometimes the wedding dresses you try on will look great but be unflattering on you. The dress must be comfortable and you must be able to move around in the dress easily. Try on a few dresses and a few designer gowns so you recognize the quality of the dress and then you can choose a dress in your price range of good quality.

Step 5 is to set a budget for your wedding dress now that you have tried on and seen many dresses. You can buy a wedding dress off the rack starting at about $250 and spend as much as $10,000 for a designer dress. Check with bridal stores that are having sales or may have a discontinued styles or overstocks.

The final step in choosing your wedding dress is to put down a deposit on your dress. Make sure to get an itemized invoice stating every detail of the dress and the services to be performed on the dress such as alterations. Specify a due date for your dress and state that the deal can be canceled if the dress isn't delivered by a specific date. See more at: Missydress prom dresses uk

NEW YORK – While she may be the queen of social media — with more than 58 million followers across platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Periscope  — Kendall Jenner really doesn’t want to know what you think of her.

“I don’t pay attention to it — I don’t read it,” said the poised, Ohne Titel-clad 19-year-old, who sat down with WWD before making a jam-packed appearance at Macy’s Herald Square (during which she sold more than $35,000 worth of Modern Muse Le Rouge, the Estée Lauder fragrance she was there to represent. It’s intended to be a bolder, sexier sister to the original Modern Muse, and sources estimate it could do $90 million at retail in its first year on counter.)

Kendall Jenner

(Photo: Red prom dresses uk)

“I don’t need it to affect my life. So I’d rather just not look at anything,” Jenner added of social media. “You can get a million comments about how beautiful you look and how awesome you are, but the one comment that says they hate you and you’re ugly is the one that sticks.”

Although Jenner has grown up under a microscope — a situation she acknowledges comes with fame — she tries, as much as she can, to keep parts of her life to herself. “I think I’m the most private out of my family,” she said of her large family, which includes sisters Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, “momager” Kris Jenner and transgender father Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner. “I’m always paying attention to that, and I try not to be too invasive into my personal life. When I was younger, I used to tweet a lot, everything I was doing and feeling. I can’t do that anymore, because it’s just giving people too much room to judge. I love posting a good picture, though.”

Jenner is candid that she’s learned from her older sisters’ missteps. “My sisters raised me along with my parents, and Kylie and I got to learn from their mistakes, for sure,” she said. “We’d watch them to learn about it before we actually got on the ride. My little sister and I make our mistakes, but at least we’re aware of it, what you have to be careful of. And they taught me not to listen to what the media has to say about me. The tabloids write the worst, most unrealistic things you could think of, like I’m pregnant with my sister’s baby.”

Constantly being under a microscope isn’t easy for most people, but Jenner said her childhood prepared her for it. “I was lucky enough to be able to grow up with it,” she said. “My little sister and I got used to it at an easy pace. It’s been normal for us since we were babies. We were never afraid of it, of a big crowd and a lot of people. We always understood the idea that it came with the fame. “

One of the most relentless issues the tabloids — and the mainstream media — have had this year is her father’s transgender status, a topic Jenner handles with grace. “It would probably be different for someone who didn’t have to live it through the media,” she said. “But it’s been a ride, for sure. It’s an adjustment. It’s something you have to get used to. But I’ve known since I was a kid. He never confirmed it to me, but I’ve known for a very long time. It’s the same person. My dad says it herself sometimes, it’s kind of like mourning the loss of someone, because it is. My dad is my dad, but he’s not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad — that’s the last little piece of dad I’ve got.” She notes that the pronouns can be confused, depending on what point in history she’s speaking of — whether it’s a year ago when her father still called himself Bruce, or post-reveal as Caitlyn.

Jenner was recently named to Forbes’ list of highest-paid models (according to the magazine, pulling in upward of $4 million a year) — and she has a lofty goal for herself: That in 10 years, her star will shine as brightly as top model Christy Turlington’s has. At least she has accomplished one thing Turlington did: Like her, Jenner also is a face of Calvin Klein Underwear. “In 10 years, I hope to be doing this still [representing Lauder]. I hate saying it, because I don’t ever want to sound too cocky, but I want to be one of the best. I want to be like a Christy Turlington, still doing my craft and still killing it. I want longevity and to be able to do this for a really long time.”

Right now, she’s enjoying the ride. “It feels awesome,” she said. “It’s always been a dream of mine, so it’s really a dream come true. I feel really productive. I’m very competitive with myself. I’m a scheduler. I’m always trying to keep everything together — I’m very OCD and very organized. I like knowing things are coming together the way I wanted them to, and that it all feels right. It’s more than I expected. When I first started, I didn’t know how people would take me, how it would work out for me. So it’s definitely much more than I expected. I try not to expect anything. So coming into it, I was thinking, ‘oh, no one’s going to like me.’”

She’s especially thankful for her Lauder contract. “Before I got the contract, I’d heard from a lot of people that a contract with a company like Estée Lauder was like a stamp of approval, a stamp of your legit-ness. So getting that was a really big step for me. And my sisters love it. The other day, Kourtney and Khloe were going to the airport, and they saw a huge billboard with my Estée ad. They took a picture of it and Instagrammed it. They say, ‘You’re the cool and classy one in the family — we’re going to feed on this and bring it in to our lives.’ ”

Jenner said that she’s also on a mission to bring all of her friends into the Lauder fold, something Estée Lauder global brand president Jane Hertzmark Hudis said she is already doing.  “That was their goal, to bring in the younger audience. They thought that I would work for that, and honestly, that’s my intention, to bring that,” Jenner said. She’s already created a lipstick within Lauder’s Pure Color line called Restless — it’s a red shade with a touch of orange — and she said she’d love to do more fragrances, including perhaps one with her own name on it. “Hint, hint,” she said to the Lauder executives around her. “I love a good vanilla-y scent,” she added. “Modern Muse Le Rouge has a hint of vanilla and raspberry, which I actually really love. And I love a red lip — red is one of my favorite colors, and I really don’t wear many other lipstick colors than red. So I wanted to do something that wasn’t just a baby pink. I wanted something that would stand out, and I feel like pretty much everyone can pull off the shade.”

Jenner and her sisters also launched their own personal lifestyle apps. “I talk about what I’m doing and give behind-the-scenes looks,” she said of hers. “I like to stay connected with my fans, and this is a really good way to do that. I have a live-stream function on it so I can pop in every once in awhile and show them a little bit of me, what I’m doing in the moment, live. I’m showing a lot of photos that have never been seen before, and videos from traveling the world, backstage and all of that.” Read more at: Prom dresses 2016

Freshers’ Fashion Guide

(Photo: Black prom dresses)

If you’re anything like I was this time last year you’ll have already started to think about tackling the insurmountable task of packing for Oxford. Last September I was faced with my first dilemma of the term – whether to pack a stylish, effortless capsule collection or to just bung the entirety of my wardrobe into ten see-through Ikea bags. I chose the latter, obviously.

I didn’t need to. I didn’t actually need about a tenth of the things I brought, but that’s irrelevant. I’m kind of reluctant to even admit this, but by the end of Michaelmas term comfort was running rings around style, and I was left cursing my three-months-earlier self for packing dozens of flimsy sundresses instead of the chunky knitwear I – and my frozen knees – were pining for.

So – because I’m a charitable sort – I’ve compiled a list of the Top Five items of clothing you should probably pack for next term, and the Top Five items you should definitely leave at home. Let’s start with the positive:

1) Your sub fusc. From scanning (read: stalking) the Trinity College Freshers’ 2011 page on Facebook there seems to be a lot of confusion about what this is, where you can buy it, and when you’re actually going to need it. The sub fusc is the academic dress for Oxford, and you’ll only wear it in its entirety for two things: your matriculation ceremony and your end-of-year exams (ed – some colleges make you wear gowns for Formal Hall dinners). You can buy your sub fusc in a few shops around Oxford (Shepherd and Woodward, Ede and Ravenscroft, Walters or Castells) once you get up here or just buy it online from the shops’ websites and have it delivered.

2) Comfy shoes, because you’re going to do a lot of walking around and clubbing and standing up in freshers’ week. Girls – you don’t have to wear heels every night out. This came as a bit of a shock to me, but by Friday of freshers’ I was pretty relieved to not have to totter from Broad Street down to Bridge in six-inch heels at the start of the night, and even more grateful to not have to totter all the way back at the end of the night. Also I know comfy is pretty much a euphemism for fug, but you can actually look decent in flats; look at the (pricey but) gorgeous range of French Sole ballet pumps or Topshop’s impressive selection of flats for inspiration.

3) A range of items for fancy dress. Just to give you an idea, mine consisted of cat ears, a school shirt, geek glasses, neon facepaint, a white T-shirt, a Hawaiian lei, leopard print Primark harems and a lot of safety pins. My friend owns a pumpkin costume (and by ‘owns’ I mean ‘owns’ in both the sense that it’s her property and the sense that she works it like a boss). Maybe don’t go this far.

4) A couple of formal outfits – for guys, suits; for girls, cocktail dresses or another smart outfit. If your college does formal hall or you go to any black-tie events you’re going to need these. Girls, from experience there aren’t too many places in Oxford you can buy amazing cocktail dresses from – you’re pretty much limited to Topshop, French Connection, Oasis and Debenhams, although you’ve always got online retailers to fall back on. It’s a good idea to pack a couple of formal outfits from home as back-up though; something you know you’re going to feel comfortable and look good in.

5) Fashion which is personal to you. You’re going to be making a lot of first impressions in the first couple of weeks, and although this first impression will obviously mostly consist of you showcasing your sparkling personality, don’t forget that how you present yourself is also important. Bring clothes that mean something to you, that remind you of home, that make you feel happy the second you put them on, that practically guarantee you’re going to have a good day. But don’t go too far. You don’t want to be remembered as that weird guy who turned up to his first tute in a ‘pussay patrol’ T-shirt from his lads’ holiday.

And finally, what not to bring:

Anything ‘too’. Anything too short. Anything too tacky. Anything too summery. Anything too eccentric. Anything too crude. Anything too tight. Anything too inappropriate. Just be sensible, okay? I know this is probably a bit obvious, but you’d be surprised at how many people I saw shivering in lectures because they’d turned up in short strappy sundresses in the middle of November. I definitely did not do this. I had a bomber jacket to put on over the sundress.

I’m expecting undying gratitude for this, freshers. If you see me out in 0th week you’d better buy me a drink. Read more at: Prom dresses online 2016

As an amateur fashion model, I am really interested in fashion and today, I would like to talk about how to choose a right dress for oneself. Remember, this is strictly written by my own personal preferences. You should just use my opinions as a reference, and also consider your own opinion.

(Photo: Cheap ball dresses)

There are two major things you need to consider when buying a dress. First is your height, are you short, or average, or tall? Depending on this variable, you can find out what dress length you should choose, whether it's short, medium, and long. The second thing is your skin color and tone. The color of your skin is a major variable of what color of dress you should choose.

Finding the right dress is very challenging, but it is also a very exciting and happy moment before the prom. You want to be focused on, and prom is the stage where you produce yourself as an actor in front of many spectators. I will summarize some aspects of dresses with your height and skin color being the two main pivots to think of when you choose your dress.

I can make a very simple formula based on my own and my colleagues' model experiences. The formula is in fact really simple; short is short, tall is long, and medium goes either way. If your height is shorter than normal, a long dress will make you look even shorter. On the contrary, if you are tall and you wear super short dress, it looks awkward and unbalanced. In this case, you should wear whether a long dress or knee length short dress. It will be a better choice because you and your dress will be shown more naturally in the right fitting.

If you are an average height person, you can go either short or the long. They will all be perfectly fitted with your average height. For example, tee length dresses are one good example. It looks sexy and wild with a romantic impression. Because of the nature of its design, simple colors are not attractive on it. Your best bet will be choosing a colorful or two colored dress that gives you a more dynamic image. You may try this type of dress if you are reserved and calm. Sometimes, you need to show your other dimensions based on the dress.

The second important element of dress buying is your color of skin. A pure solid skin color goes well with a solid color of dress, and the blended or medium tone of skin color may be good for medium color or print dresses. The solid colors I mention here are white, black, and red. The other blended or print colors will be purple, yellow, blue, teal, gray, burgundy, silver, fuchsia, or mixed colors, etc. For example, if your skin is either white or black tone, you can digest easily any prom dress with of white, black and red colors. This solid color dress represents your face more outstandingly, but if you choose a medium or dull color of dress, your face color will be blended with the color of dress. There is no contrast benefit. This is called a camouflage effect.

How about if you have a medium tone of skin color, like Asian, Latin, European, or Middle Eastern? These types of skin color individuals go well with a medium tone of color dresses such as mixed, two tones, or printed dresses. Your skin color and the color of your dress will be much more compatible without the contrast effect. You may choose more dynamic, colorful and fancy dresses to represent your medium tone skin color more.

Dress buying is fun, but sometimes, it will be a daunting task with stress. However, if you have a basic understanding of these two elements I mentioned, it will help you to choose a more suitable dress with confidence. Prom is a place to display yourself. In the days before prom, you make yourself better looking. The right choice of dress based on your height and skin color will be the first thing you need to consider to display yourself with the dress. Then the prom will be absolutely enjoyable. We have to admit, all of us have been on the to-don'ts list of fashion at least once in our lives. More than just putting together pieces of clothing and accessories and hoping that it pulls together, some people take fashion more seriously than you think. Creativity and attitude are insufficient when it comes to the fashion industry. Proper training from the top fashion universities has become a necessity in becoming a popular fashion designer.

(Photo: Chic prom dresses)

Fashion universities know that the fashion industry is a competitive field. Designers often go back to school to take refresher courses as they don't want to be left behind on the latest trends. The following then are tips to fashion designers on how to stay in fashion in the industry.

1. Be innovative

Fashion universities teach their students how to stay current. Fashion designers are trend-setters. Practically speaking, they are the ones who dictate what savvy people will be wearing in the next season. People follow fashion designers and it is the job of fashion universities to instill that trend-setting mindset to their students. Immersing yourself with fashion and being exposed to anything and everything can kick up your creativity level. Remember that clothing is supposed to be a way of expression which puts a heavy responsibility on the designers. People will be wearing your design which means that designers should remained challenged to always come up with new ideas to express oneself.

2. Fast-paced

The fashion industry is a fast-paced environment that requires constant innovative designs. Fashion universities can keep you up to date with the prevailing trends at a time, but by tomorrow, a brand new concept will be introduced. With technology, design software can also be used by not only speeding up the process of designing but also make use of techniques that cannot be instilled in pencil drawing. As the industry goes from season to season, fashion designers will always have to be a season ahead of everyone else. Fashion universities then keep students conscious of the shifting demands and opportunities of the fashion industry. Fashion designers should know how to think quickly and master their skills because something new has to be put on the store shelves for next season.

3. Broaden your options

There are hundreds of fashion designers that dream of getting their designs on the runway. Graduates of fashion universities are usually either self-employed or work for a clothing and apparel company. Inadequate capital and social connections are factors that hinder good fashion designers to be seen in fashion shows. As only a handful of designers get recognized in the fashion industry, fashion universities regard several options to which students should consider. Make-up Artists, Stylists, and Fashion Merchandising are but some examples of careers that are closely related to fashion design which are also offered by many fashion universities.

Fashion universities are best suited for those who truly have a love for clothing and fashion. Staying in fashion can be both a tiring and rewarding career. Like Heidi Klum says in her popular TV show called Project Runway, "One day you're in, and the next day you're out". Read more at: Prom dresses 2016

You know those days – the ones where you roll out of bed (after hitting the snooze button too many times), stumble into your closet, and have no idea what to wear? Our series Easy Outfit Formulas is here to help! Every other week, I’ll feature two items (which you might own already) that can be paired into outfits for those days when you need some quick and easy inspiration.

Gingham is always a trendy print come spring, so a gingham top is a long-lasting staple that will always be in style. White pants, though a bit intimidating, are super-versatile and chic-- and when paired with a classic gingham top, they make the perfect warm weather ensemble.

Ready to give this formula a try? Here are ideas on how to wear the combo for every occasion:

For Work

White pants, gingham blouse, burgundy cardigan

Products: Top | Cardigan | Pants | Flats | Bag | Prom dress short

Try this chic and stylish look for a casual/business casual workplace. Start with stretchy white ponte pants and a gingham blouse, then layer a burgundy cardigan over the top for a splash color. Black lace d'orsay flats add a pretty, feminine touch, and a structured tote adds polish. Complete the ensemble with subtle jeweled earrings.

For the Weekend

Gingham shirt and white jeans

Products: Shirt | Jeans | Shoes | Bag | Bracelet

This relaxed yet fashion-forward look would be ideal for the weekend (or possibly even a day of classes). Start with ripped, white boyfriend jeans paired with a classic blue gingham shirt. Lace-up suede booties and a fringe bag add a slightly rustic, boho feel, while a geometric gold bracelet provides just the right amount of sparkle.

For Night

White pants, gingham crop, and white blazer

Products: Top | Blazer | Pants | Heels | Clutch

Ready for a bold and adventurous evening look that will turn heads? Try a pair of white pants, a gingham crop top, and a crisp white blazer. Strappy pink stilettos and a graphic clutch pack a trendy punch. Though you'll have to be careful not to spill anything on your all-white ensemble, your fashion sense will easily grab everyone's attention. See more at: Missydress prom dresses uk

Weddings are definitely tough events to dress for, as your outfit typically depends on your role in the wedding, your relationship with the couple, and just generally how fancy the event is going to be. Because of that reason—and since I know you guys are from all over and experience totally different weather—I have tried to simply make some base outfits that you can use for inspiration to help you find your perfect wedding outfit.

Generally, tights, cardigans, and coats can be added to these as needed, and shoes can be switched out for a similar style/color that may be more appropriate for the situation. Hopefully these sample outfits will help get you out of your wedding rut!

Wedding Guest Outfit #1

Wedding Outfit

Product Information: Dress: Missy Dress, Bow Clutch: Newlook.co.uk, ‘Giana’ Pump: Nordstrom, Headband: Modcloth.com, Cheek and Lip Tint: Benefitcosmetics.com

There’s that old wedding adage that every bride needs “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Therefore, you know that a blue dress will fit in at any wedding!

I love this dress for a slightly more conservative look, and the lace top and sleeves give it a really interesting vintage feel. To keep the focus on the dress’ great shape and detail, I chose simple, girly accessories like pale, blush-pink pumps and a deep blue clutch with a great bow design.

To complete the look, go for a sweeping, loose up-do held with a similarly blush-colored headband. Add a swipe of pink tint across your cheeks and lips, and you’ll definitely have the “new” look everyone’s talking about!

Wedding Guest Outfit #2

Sample outfit for what to wear to a wedding

Product Information: Dress: Wedding dresses online uk, Pearl & Crystal Bracelet Set: Monsoon.co.uk, Moon Beam Complexion Highlighter: Benefitcosmetics.com, Silver Flats: Wantedshoes.com

This look is a bit bolder since the purple is so rich, but the cut and draping are definitely flattering and fun for a wedding atmosphere. The similarly draped black clutch and silver flats continue the flowing style of the dress, while the pearls add a classic touch.

Since the outfit is a statement in itself, try to go natural with your hair and makeup. Drop the eyeliner and lipstick in favor of faking your own in-love-newlywed glow (you know the look I’m talking about!) by blending a shimmery highlighter onto your cheekbones and brow bones.

Retire As a Golden Girl

Due to the surprisingly high singles rate and the expense of residing alone, sharing a place with others can completely transform your life while offering many benefits. You remember the TV show called the "Golden Girls?" This is what I call Platonic Cohabitation and it has the potential to be a life saver on a number of different levels.

Since we are the first generation to live a long time in retirement, social accommodations that meet our needs tend to lag behind. The many benefits of cohabitation are:

ECONOMIC: This most obvious of benefits cuts your expenses of rent and utilities in half. It can reduce your mortgage payment or become an income stream if your home is paid off.

HEALTH: Others help alert us to remembering our medications or being aware of problems that are not apparent to us at first. Your roommate would be the first responder if you get hurt or need help.

SOCIAL: Having people around stops some primary problems in old age like loneliness and isolation. This can led to depression and early death, so being social is part of the key to longevity.

PERSONAL: Having someone to discuss personal matters with is a very important part of being involved and connected to life. The degree of bonding that occurs with roommates can be very profound and long lasting. It's quite likely that needed friendships will flourish in this setting.

When I worked my way through college, I needed to have roommates for many years. Besides a form of economizing, it was an experience at meeting new and diverse people. I actually met the group of college buddies that became lifelong friends for over 41 years as roommates. When I purchased my first house, I offset the expense by having a roommate. This person also turned out to be a lifelong friend. Consequently, the best friendship bonding in my life has occurred as a result of having roommates.

Many of us may have not had a roommate since college and may have mixed feelings about it. But, we should not let past memories cloud our judgement about what we need in the future. I always recommend that you start with a friend or someone on your social network, so you already have a level of comfort. If no one on your network needs to share right now, there are a number of websites that are roommate finders. All my roommates were unknown at first until they became lifelong supportive friends.
