Betrayal comes in all shapes and sizes. It is not measured by the person doing the betraying but by the one recieving it. If you are the person on the recieving end of this, at first there is shock, then comes the sting. The strange thing is that no matter when you find out about it, whether it be the same day, next month , or 10 years down the road the result is still the same. You are crushed. How could this person that I believed in and trusted do this to me is usually the question that comes to mind. Or even how could I have not seen? The most important thing to remember in this situation (as hard as it is when you are faced with it sometimes) is that the problem is theirs and not yours. The betrayer needs to carry that cross. It is not our burden to bare. We need to pick up the pieces and put it behind us and chalk it up to a learning experience.
