What are you waiting for?

Let MJ rest in peace.

Now that Micheal Jackson is dead, people have been villanize him more than ever. Here is my take on things:

Child molester or not, he was truly sick and could not be held accountable. He should have had some serious therapy long ago.

Truth is, I don't want to believe that he molested any children. However, i could believe it if he truly did and I was presented with evidence. But I think his situation was different than most, and he would have been better suited for psychiatric treatment than prison. Of course, if he had gotten the help he needed before all that happened, it might not have happened at all.

I think one reason I don't want to believe it is because I find it sick for parents of the children to go after or even take his money. Greed knows no bounds, I guess and everyone has a price. But were I a parent in that situation, no amount of money would satisfy my vengeance (yes, I think he was sick and needed help more than prison, but if it happened to my child, I would probably think differently). I think it's an insult to the children for their parents to see dollar signs when something so traumatic happens to their kids.

He was a great entertainer, but the lengths he had to go through to achieve what he did broke him completely long before any accusations surfaced. He was pushed too far, and as much as I loved his music, it makes me sad to know what he had to go through for it.

Bottom line: He was a human being too. Leave him the hell alone and let him rest in peace. He's dead now, get over it.

I get a lot of people tell me that I will want kids someday. That I'm young and I may not want kids now, but someday that maternal instinct will kick in. I hate those people. I know I'm young. I'm 21. But I know beyond all doubt that I will never have kids... 1.) I really don't like them. They are gross, loud, annoying, and they don't listen. I can't even babysit my niece and nephew. 2.) I like being an Aunt. I can see me niece and nephew, spoil them, love them, and the best part: I can give them back. 3.) I will graduate college in 2 years and plan on getting a career. 4.) I like my life the way it is. 5.) Were I to even consider kids, I would want to wait until I am financially stable enough to support them. And by my standards, I would never make that kind of money. 6.) I really don't want to be responsible for another life. 7.) This isn't a reason per se, but I don't feel that it is my duty as a woman to have children. Nor do I feel that a woman needs kids to feel whole or feminine. Many people seem to have this mentality and I find it to be primitive, sexist thinking. People are too intimidated by a strong, independent, childfree woman. 8.) Did I mention I don't like kids? 9.) I have enough back pain as it is. 10.) I just don't want them. How hard is that to comprehend?
It feels so good to hear those words, President Elect Barack Obama. I am beside myself with relief and joy. We finally have a president who cares not of his own agendas, but of the American people. Who cares about the working class people who struggle to keep a roof under out heads. Who cares about real change and believes that this country can overcome anything. And of course, history has been made. We have our very first black President. AAnd not only that, but I have hope that he will be a great President. He will restore the faith in this country and help to pull us out of the downward spiral that Bush put us in. All I ask of President Obama is that he remember those of us who elected him. He remember not only the wealthy, but the poor who despite our financial troubles, contributed to his campaign. That he always remember us when he is in the White House. And that he be the President we all hope he will be. For the first time in 8 long years, I am proud to be an American. I am proud of this country and what it can accomplish. I am proud to say the name President Obama. Yes we can.

Sarah Palin is a nutjob

Seriously, this woman is whacked. How any woman can be so against women's rights just boggles my mind! She has a daughter who is pregnant, out of wedlock, and yet she is still anti birth control, anti abortion, and anti sex education. People like this must have lead very sheltered lives to be so naive to think that you can actually stop people from having sex for reasons other than procreation! Oh and she wants to have public schools teach creationism? Yeah, nice separation of church and state. Nice freedom of religion. If I had a child and the public schools only taught creationism, believe me, they would not go to those schools. I would home school them if necessary, but children should not be brainwashed. If parents want their kids to believe int hat stuff, great, but in a public education system, where children are brought up with different religions, that is unacceptable! And as for abortion: let's throw away the debate of whether or not life begins at conception. Let's forget about that for now. In fact, let's even look at it from a religious point of view... God gave us free-will. We were given freedom of choice and that choice includes procreation and the choice to believe in God or not. That freedom of choice includes, yes, even murder(though I don't think abortion is murder). It is up to God to judge, not you. And birth control! How anyone can even consider birth control as a form of abortion, I just can't even fathom. Besides, there are other MEDICAL reasons some women take birth control besides preventing pregnancy. Oye vey. If you read this, and are conservative and want to condemn me to hell, just DIAF. I don't want to hear it. You won't change my mind, and I won't change yours. But feel free to debate some of my points, I would be happy to clarify my meaning if needed.
