It is our holding on that leaves us stuck in a rut of victimization - feeling all alone, isolated and constantly on the defensive. Letting go is a choice we make on our own behalf. We choose to let go into life, into a natural world that welcomes us, into our own true nature.
It can be frightening to let go of the familiar. So we don't have to let go all at once. We can let go little by little, one day at a time. Today we may choose to let go enough to smell the beauty of a rose. Or perhaps we may ask for a hug from someone who genuinely cares for us and respects our boundaries. The more open-handed we become, the more open our hearts are to receive life's gifts.
I open my heart to receive.
