I have been through things like that as well....if it helps you at all..i hope it does...even though the father isnt up to par in his parenting skills as you would like him to be..none the less he"IS" there...dont take that for granted for your sons sake...there are ways to work around it...a nice phone call can go many directions in your favor..the key...dont bring up the money and tell him you appreciate him being their for your son....trust me it goes a very long way....as much as you hate saying it...it works. the other thing i did and still do on the occasion when he does actually see my sons....i talk to the kids..remind them whats healthy and whats not..and anything else i cn use to help that along (gaining weight,feeling good,sports etc) that goes a long way as well..when its something they want to do for themselves....But never never make the issues about money..come between them and their father...he does enough of that on his own with many other things.i dont feel the nee to contribute .
