I was just wondering that it seems like when another country has a disaster the US government is there the next day. Why then when there is a disaster here it takes a week?
It took a week in New Orleans and it has taken a week here in western Kentucky where the county I live in has no power except generators, many fellow Kentuckians have a well due to no available water and as we all know wells require power. We can drive to town but are limited to 5 gallons, try going all day with only 5 gallons of water.
We were told that we will not have electricity for at least a few weeks.
The national guard has been here for a few days with many more coming today to help.
Our county schools have been postponed "indefinately"
The only thing we have is your prayer requests.
Everyone enjoy the unthought of priveledges you have such as food,phones, water and power because without any of those really puts you in a hardship one could never imagine.
The radio (generator run of course) says to call this or that number for help but unless one has verizon cell phones, the AT&T tower fell, one cannot call anyone.
How about a 5 pm to 6 am curfew? How about there being no shelters nearby, but there are "warming" stations untill 5.
I believe our country needs to be more responsive to us, our country!
