Fisher Price's blog: "Just Talk..."

created on 02/23/2007  |  http://fubar.com/just-talk/b58612
Yeah- so my cousin, Sherri, and I are in LOVE with AFI, so we wanted to go see them in concert. For me it would be my second time seeing them, but for Sherri, it would be her first. Originally, we were planning on going to the Boca Raton show (in Florida)...but my dad was being a douche, and said that our car wouldn't make it there. We thought differently, of corse. --Yeah our car is a HUGE piece, but still- I had faith-the Agnostic kind. ::winks:: Anyway, the Florida thing didn't work out. I even tried to recruit one of my friends, so we could take HER car. All to no avail. After several weeks of constant attempts, we started to give up all hopes of going to see them. We looked on Ticket Master, to see if AFI were playing anywhere closer-the next closest show was in Nashville on 2/6/07, so we decided to try and go to that one. I asked my dad if he would let us drive up there, and amazingly enough-he said yes! ::smiles:: At that point I got uber excited. I ran upstairs and told Sherri, and we almost immediately signed online to see if we could find some tickets. Unfortunately, when we got back on Ticket Master there were NO tickets left. They had sold out! GAY!-And not in the hot-two guys doin' eachother, kind of gay. ::angry eyes:: Luckily, Sherri has a big brain and thought to look for tickets on Ebay. We checked it out, and sure enough-there were two tickets for sale. Naturally we bid on them....SEVERAL times, in fact. In the end we won the tickets, which was an uber-fantastically-great feeling, and knew that there was nothing keeping us from going to see AFI anymore. We left Conyers at about 6:00 PM on Sunday, the 4th and got to Nashville around 11:00 PM. On the way TO Nashville we stopped a couple times, the second time we stopped my mom managed to lose our directions. That took some time to correct. We ended up calling one of my moms friends and asking them to give us what we had lost. ::sighs:: That's my mom for ya. It was a huge relief to be in Nashville. That was just one less thing we had to worry about. I'm really happy that we ended up getting there two days before the day of the concert. It helped a lot. We also found out that the hotel we were staying in was right across the street from the venue. ::smiles:: That kicked MAJOR-anus, and gave us an advantage on the people whom were planning on camping out. (like us) When Tuesday came, Sherri and I were woken up by our parents, who told us that some kids were starting to line up outside the doors of the venue, and that AFI's tour busses were outside. That got us up in a hurry. This was at like 7:30 AM (the day of the concert) Sherri and I got up and immediately got ready-she finished before me, though...At 8:00 Sherri and her mom were down at the doors, claiming our spots in line. I came along a little later. ::smiles:: I'm surprised that we stayed out there for as long as we did, considering the temperature outside was below 20 degrees, and there was some snow on the ground. Blankets were a slight help, but not much. We were outside waiting in line from 8:00 AM-7:30 PM. During the whole-waiting in line/camping out process, we managed to get a picture with Jade and Adam. ::heart eyes:: Woot! I was supa happy, yo!!! I hate that I never got to see, or meet Davey, but I will live. There will be more chances for me to do that in the future. ::winks:: When it finally came time for the concert to start, and the doors to the venue to open, there were TONS of people behind us. Our door managed to get stuck, and wouldn't open right away, so our line got kinda pissed and antsy when we saw the other lines going in before us. After our door finally got opened, our line ran like hell to get a good spot in the pit. I managed to get second row, and was standing middle-right. Sherri got front row, and was standing to the right. I'm glad that I got where I was, because when Davey did his little 'God walk' I got to touch his left wrist and pinky/ring-finger. After the concert ended, one of the techie-guys balled up a piece of paper and threw it into the crowd. I jumped up and caught it with my left hand. -As soon as I caught it I screamed "I caught it!" (-As if it wasn't obvious...) ::grins:: I was super lucky. I have no complaints, however I do regret not screaming "Davey you're beautiful!!!!" Eh, I suppose I will have to do that the next time around... ::grins:: "Much respect, much love...Goodnight....."
