Underground Hip Hop and obscure bands you've never heard of.

Favorite? Hip Hop. Hands down.
And I don't mean the ridiculous stuff that dominates 99% of the airwaves and MTV or BET. If you understand the difference between a Hip Hop Artist and a Platnium Selling Rapper, then you get what I am saying.

Murs, A Tribe Called Quest, Redman, Tupac, Pharcyde, Atmosphere(Slug), The Beastie Boys, Rakim, Jadakiss, Mos Def, Xzibit, The Alkoholiks, De La Soul, Brother Ali, Keith Murray, KRS-One, The Roots, Busta Rhymes, Nas & AZ, Andre 3000 & Big Boi(Outkast), LL Cool J, Kool Keith, Notorious B.I.G., Method Man, Gangstarr, the Biz, Kurtis Blow, .... gotta love that pure hip hop at it's finest.

Any artist, across all genres, who makes his or her music with a true love of the music and uses it as an artistic form of expression has got my attention.

I like songs that will still be relevant in 20 years. Rappers like Souljah boy and Wayne, yes I said Wayne, are going to be dust in the wind one day.

Sell outs equal shit.

And this man is not simple minded. My tastes also include:
Carlos Santana, Rehab, 5FDP, Rage Against the Machine, Matisyahu, Gabriele Antonio, etc.... just no country music, please!
