ok first off, i am by no means whatsoever a morning person. i am the definition of a night owl. usually out n about till 1-2 am and up till at least 3 or 4. had to get up at 7 to get showered and across town to the courthouse to report for jury duty by 8. got there, checked in and waited... and waited... and waited some more... till bout 11:15 when the judge and attourneys were ready for the group to go up and be questioned and eliminated and selected for the final 12 (out of 51) that would actually be on the jury. let us go for an hour and a half lunch from 12-1:30. got back and had to park in the overflow parking lot because the main juror parking lot fit all of 20 cars and waited some more, oh yes, there was waiting...and more waiting.... got back up to the judge n all them bout 2 and got questioned some more... didnt make the jury(oh what a shame $10 a day plus $0.55 per mile (13 miles each way) to miss out on my $13 an hour job) so they let me go around 4:15 and on top of all of it, when i got out to my car to go to work (since i work late shift (1-9) anyway, i only missed 2 and half hours (minus my normal lunch hour) of work) and find, guess what? a f'n parking ticket on my car because apparantly only the BACK half of the parking lot marked JUROR OVERFLOW PARKING is actually for jurors, the front 15 spots or so (including where i parked, RIGHT NEXT TO THE SIGN) is actually reserved for the public servants at the sherriffs office (and not marked as such either). brought the ticket back into the courthouse (after moving my car to a metered spot and chipping in a dime to avoid another $15 ticket) and they told me flat out "sorry, nothin we can do". needless to say i was pissed. what little compensation theyll be giving me for making me get up earlier than anyone should, wasting most of my day and making me miss out on work so i have to go in on my day off to make up for it not to mention the cross town trips during rush-hour (and i hate the morons that drive in rush hour, i swear, between 7-9 am and 4-6 pm people just get plain f'n STUPID on the roads), will be going straight back to them because theyre just plain A-HOLES. been up for 12 hours on about 3 and a half hours sleep and ive got at least another 2 and a half (640 now and i close at 9) before i can even think about sleep... good possibility someone might die...
