As many of you have noticed (and commented on) my page has been "sporting" a new title lately. Many of you have asked me about the "IndePenDant TapPer Family", so here is the information. I got tired of seeing many of my friends involved in these "families". I have asked many times what the purpose of thier family was, and have never heard one single answer that made any sense (other than having someone to help you win contests). So I decided to form my own family. Some of you have asked what the purpose of my family is, and what it "stands for", so here is my reply; IndePenDant: Not controlled by another; Able to function by itself; Self-suporting; Showing confidence in ones self; Done without obstruction; Somebody or something unaffected by others TapPer: A nick name I gave to the people who frequent CT (probably not original, but get over it) Family: Group with something in common; People "living" together These three words make up the name for this group. I believe they should also be the founding "ideas" of this family. To that end, if you are interested in having "family" on CT that are interested in supporting you, talking to you, and generally taking interest in you, then this is the family for you. If you are wanting to have the freedom of choice, and the right to disagree with the founder or other family members, then this is the family for you. If you want to come to CT and know that there are others that share your frustration with the "gamers" and "fakes", that are everywhere, then this is the family for you. I want to start a "Family", that actually talks to and supports one another, not one that is just here to be a point "brothel". If this interests you then private message me, and I will consider your acceptance. As the "family" grows the "acceptance" requirements may change, but for now I will decide. Once there is enough members, we will have an anonimous vote for the directors of the family (6) and they will guide the direction of the family thereafter. Acceptance requirements at this point are; 1) You must have shown some interest in speaking with atleast one of our members on a regular basis (presently only me), and this does not limit you to CT only. If you have regular contact through some other form of communication, this is acceptable as well (msn, aim, aol, yahoo, Email, ETC.) 2) You must have shown geniune interest in one of our members (not just speaking with them on one occasion, but reading their blogs, checking out their pictures, and generally trying to get to know them. NOTICE it says nothing about the number of comments or ratings you must give. this is where the independant part comes in.) 3) As the membership grows, I will require referances from atleast two members who will give you a "character" reference. 4) You must remain true to both items one and two I hope this clears matters up. U may see my status showing me "playin poker" more and more over the next while. I am trying to qualify for the WPT. It's been a goal of mine for about two years now, and i think i'm fairly close. like all goals they require dedication and hard work. I'm still here to chat with my friends and make new friends, I'm just gonna be a little slow responding (if it a really serious tournament, i won't be here). just thought i would explain.

I read an article in the paper today which I found truely annoying. The Ontario government is considering an outright ban on handgun ammunition, with the exception of firing ranges and competition grounds, as a response to the recent gang shootings. Unfortunately, the general public does not understand what is involved in legally owning handguns in our country. Before you can even get your PAL (Possession and Aquisition Licence), you must attend a firearms safety course. after the successful completion of this course, you must complete the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety course. After that you must find three individuals which are willing to sign a statement, affirming that they have known the applicant for atleast three years (they cannot be relatives). One must be able to confirm that the individual in the photgraph attached to the application is accurate, for identification purposes, to identify the applicant. They all must confirm that the information provided by the applicant is true and correct, and that they know of no reason why the indiviual applicant should not own a firearm. Finally the applicant must give current addresses on all spouses (current or past), or common law partners they have lived with in the past two years. After all of that, you have to wait, atleast, 28 days before getting approval for your licence. This is due to police checks, etc. Once you have gone through all of this, there is strict regulations on transportation of your restricted weapon (handgun). You must obtain a restricted firearms transportation certificate. This certificate restricts the hours, as to when you can transport your firearms, and the destination (example you may be restricted to transport your firearm to and from a registered firing range, between the hours of 10 am and 9 pm). To deviate from this is a criminal act. There are also regualtions that control the method by which you can transport your firearm. Finally, before you can purchase any ammunition (handgun or otherwise) you must produce identification (most times two peices). This identification must include a valid PAL. Without proper identification, you cannot purchase ammunition. My point with all of this is ... the regulations and laws are already in place ... simply start enforcing them. If new regulations need to be put in place, then start with placing tougher laws on the "Illegal firearms", and the people who use firearms in the commision of a crime. This is the only way that these types of violent crimes will be reduced. Stop punishing the legal firarms owner for the crimes committed by others. DON'T BE FOOLLED BY THIS LIBERAL PLOY. THE LAWS ARE ALREADY THERE, THIS IS JUST AN EXCERCISE IN DISTRACTION. THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THESE CRIMES! P.S. I should note that I'm not usually very "politically motivated", but this is attacking one of my hobbies. I promise to go back to "blogging" about nothing in the near future!

So, a few months ago (like four to six) a friend of a friend trained up for a MMA event. My friend asked me to help him train, and i did... however he wouldn't listen to anything I taught him or should i say "tried" to teach him. I stopped offering my assistance and distanced myself from him (I did however find out that he threw my name at the promoter to get himself in and a little more "respect". the promoter is an old friend of mine.). Before i left i sat down with him and his training group and told him exactly how he was going to lose the fight. the fight went down pretty much exactly as i predicted, the only detail i got wrong was how long the fight lasted, he did last longer than i thought. Fast forward to this weekend, his group came to me and is asking for help again. they have told me that this time they will listen and that they now know they can not do this without "expert" or experienced help. So I'm gonna dust off the equipment and give it another go. I hope this time will have a different result, not only in the ring, but also in the training. Maybe he will learn something this time. anyways, I will atleast have an oportunity to teach these guys and to "help" get myself back into shape. If I feel the training is going really well, maybe, just maybe, I will step into the ring myself (probably not, but who knows). thanx to all my friends who have chatted or discussed or whatever, over the past few months. I have FINALLY put the down payment on my new HARLEY (YEAH!!!!). I'm still waiting for the financing to be finalized, but that should be a breeze. For those that are wondering, I bought a 2007 Softtail Duece in Jake and Elwood blue. There will be a photo in my interests real soon. Mark P.S. I've wanted this since I was 19, so it's been awhile coming.

So as many of u know i went away this past weekend. while i was there i found out that some of my photos had been presented to the Calgary Zoo for consideration for marketing. Turns out that they are considering using some of my photos for their promotions (color me shocked). Thanx to all of you who have given me encouragement over the past few months. this was totally unexpected, and I am psyched to even be considered. at this time no discussions regarding re-embusment for using my photos, but atleast some one is considering my photos for use.
