My poor truck is finally pissing me off.... I've replaced every thing for the starting system...

Bought a new computer for it.. for an 1987 Ranger... the original was a 1990 computer in it, apparently, but the engine's an 1987... so.. I buy an 1987 computer, hook it in, and the same bull... no spark from the coil areas... BUT now my wipers never shut off either.. makes me think, for some reasin, it's the wrong computer... and oh, how I'd like to slap the 1990 computer back in.. but I had to give it to the part store for the core-charge for the 1987 computer..The core-charge was almost 100 bucks... either give them the computer or pay the extra money... which would've brought the costs to over 200 bucks for the 1987 computer..and they won't take it back due to it being an electrical part AND installed once.. I can use it for another core-charge... WTF?

Thinking of ripping out the whole distributer system, having it checked at a shop, even though I know the fvcker turns when the ingnition turns over.. it goes from Coil to Distributer. the circuit, that is... but there is one wire that goes from the ECM to the coil system, through other systems.. the ECM is brand new, but could be faulty, or the wires themselves. I've been checking continuity on the wires from the coil down to the starting system, btu there's been so many jerry rigs and cuts, slices and redos, that it's taking forever and a day.. maybe forever and a week..

Thinking of also, ripping the coil outand the ECM, to take them to be tested ... again.. at Autozone...As well as continue the wire testing...

Things done all ready...

-Ignition cylinder and key

-Ignition switch

-MAP

-ECM

-Coil

_Wires

-Plugs

-BOTH Fuel Pumps

-Fuel Filter

-Distributer tested and checked

-Alternater tested and check (Voltage regulater built in)

-Wires from Voltage regulator to the rest of system replced

-Jerryrigged wire from starting sytsem to Clutch Safty Switch replaced

This thing's taking way too damn long for me... Pushing 10 months now.. It's sevrely testing my patience and making me question my abilities lately..

-Several other smaller things, fuses, inline fuses, etc etc..

So, any other ideas other than what i've thought of and done all ready??
