Looks like I gotta go back. I'm going to try driving at night tonight. I used to drive at night all the time in undergrad, but it was only an hour away. Making an 8 hour drive at night may not be a good idea. I'm a night owl, as many of you know. I think I'll be okay driving at night. As long as I have the tunes cranked up and don't turn the heat up, I think I'll make it.
There's less traffic too. Going through Atlanta anytime from 4pm to about 7pm is HELL. And the same goes for Charlotte. So if I don't even leave here until about 7pm I hope I'll miss all the traffic. It will just be me and the 18 wheelers.
My mom doesn't even get off work until 5:40pm so I have to wait until she gets home. The good thing is, everyone will be here when I leave so I can get them to help me carry my stuff downstairs. I have quite a few bags of stuff that I have accumulated.
Just for the hell of it, here is the emails between my boss and me.
From me to her:
"Would it be possible, if I speak with Person, to double up on the next event and miss the wrestling this Friday? There's 5 of us on the shift I'm working. I have lunch plans with my god mother, whom I haven't seen in ages, on Friday and I'd really like to be able to see her."
Her reply
"Quick question, why was the lunch scheduled for when we have an event?"
My answer
"When I talked to Person she said that if the even was on Friday and Saturday that I could have the Saturday shift. Then she emailed and told me that the event may only be Friday and she probably wouldn't need everyone. And Friday was the only day my god mother was available to meet for lunch.
But I'm not the kind of person to try and get out of work or anything. So it's not a big deal. I don't have to go to lunch with her, I just thought I would ask."
I feel kind of bad for even asking. I hate those types of people that try and get out of work. I'm not that kind of person at all. But like I said in the previous blog, having 5 people working one shift is a bit excessive.
Oh well, I gotta go finish packing my clothes up. Then I have to pack up the Wii. I really don't want to go back yet.
