I have a real problem when people who are getting on the elevator do so inefficiently. Call it either a lack of brains, or common courtesy but if you are getting off at an early stop, you really shouldn't get on the elevator first. For example, if you are getting on at the first floor and getting off on the second floor, don't push your way in so that you are the first one in. You know there is no stop in between the ground floor and the second; you are going to be the first one off. Yet people do this all the time, they must be the first ones on, pushing and scooting in so they can get on. Here's where my dickish side rears its' ugly head. If you are one of those people that feel the need to get on, well I am sorry, I don't feel a real need to get out of your way. Matter of fact, I may just clumsily get in your way just a little more. I may even crack a smile if the door closes before you get a chance to get off. You may think I am a dick, but I think I am more of an Elevator Vigilante, making the elevators a more productive place for everyone. I am not sure if anyone actually learns the lesson, but it does make me feel a little better.
