Packing of household goods is one of the most challenging and toughest tasks to do while moving home. Learning some packing secrets is a right decision you can take in order to make packing process a lot easier and effective. The first thing you do need to do is collect packing supplies and boxes. You will need dish-pack boxes which are especially designed sturdy and cushioned boxes suitable for packing of chinaware and other fragile items. Also collect padding supplies like wrapping sheets, bubble wraps, blank newsprint papers, old newspapers, dish-towels, etc.
Carefully wrap chinaware in sheets of blank newsprint papers rather than using old newspapers. Avoid old newspapers to wrap as the ink may smuggle or leave ugly mark on fine chinaware. Place newsprint paper in the bottom of the dish-pack box for cushioning. You can also use wadded old newspapers or other supplies like socks and dish-towels in the bottom of box. Wrap each piece carefully in clean newsprint paper or bubble wrap with a double layer of paper. Then wrap up to three in a bundle with double layer of wrapping sheets. Place wrapped and bundled chinaware in a row on edge inside the box. Putting china plates on edge is a good technique to avoid the risk of breakage.
Make sure the box has no empty space. Surround each bundle with lightly crushed old newspapers and fill the box with padding supplies. Seal and secure the box correctly using heavy duty product packaging tape. Finally; label the box with appropriate tag – FRAGILE – Handle with Care. Also inform the mover about your box containing fragile or delicate or breakable items.
