Thomis Edison once said "Opportunity is often missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work"... Truer words have never been said.
I take the term "Dress for Success" to mean a multitude of things, dressing like you mean to take the world, dressing like you mean to impress a hot date, and dressing yourself.. to be able to look in the mirror and say "I am proud of you". Dress for Success meaning you are mentally, spiritually, and physically ready to succeed. But we all know life is very hard.. everyone needs help, not everyone is offered the same chances to just instantly jump into something good.. Life takes hard work. and a Dream.. Let me explain in further detail.
Before i grew up, i was nineteen years old when i was first homeless, I had the right idea's but wasn't in the position to do anything, nor was i smart enough to even know what I was doing. During the time i was homeless i was however fortunate enough to have a job. But the job paid enough only to keep me fed.. which was perfectly fine. But i was living off the ground.. Then i was offered my first chance of help.. a family I had known for awhile offered to help me get back on my feet, so i moved to Virginia, and from then on in 3 years, through working 2.5 of those years nonstop, I am living on my own, I have nice things, I have grown up, I am a store manager, I have good friends, and good connections, I am on the right path. and even a starting business owner.
If a guy like me can get to where I am in 3 years, anyone can. Its hard, i know trust me i know. I will never compare what i've gone through with other people.. But life does get better.. but it won't get better if you just sit around, complaining.
Hard Work, and a Dream.. I dreampt to have my very own business, to call my dad and tell him what i had accomplished, to make my pop proud.. Now I dress like i mean to do business, I look in the mirror everyday and I am happy with what i see. Life is still hard.. But hard work, a positive attitude, a little help.. and of course a Dream.. and everyone can be someone, everyone can stop living off the ground like I was.
What advice can I offer?
~when someone asks you if you can do it, always say yes.. then figure out how to do it after
~Ask for help... It sucks and you probably wanna be independant.. But sometimes you have to learn that pride isn't always the answer.. Just make up for it by pushing forward
~Let Haters hate, People will say horrible things, put you down, tell you you'll fail.. Let them hate. because when you succeed, you get to turn around with a smile and say.. "yeah, i did that"
~be positive, everyone will have down times, even me.. But a negative attitude gets zero work done.
~Dream, The world we live in was born from a dream, find your place, do your research, and build off the foundation you have produced via all your hard work
~Work hard, Push yourself.
~Never give up, just improvise
