TIPS ON PUMPING GAS I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in California we are also paying higher, up to $3.50 per gallon. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon.. Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose , CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons. Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps. When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3)stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some other liquid d that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money. One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount. Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom. READ ON Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil. These companies import Middle Eastern oil: Shell........................... 205, 742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels Amoco...........................62,231,000 barrels Citgo gas is from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil: Sunoco..................0 barrels Conoco..................0 barrels Sinclair.................0 barrels B P/Phillips ............0 barrels Hess......................0 barrels ARC0....................0 barrels If you go to Sunoco.com, you will get a list of the station locations near you. All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do. Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) .. and so o n, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUND RED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that take?

GAS WAR - an idea that WILL work This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. It ' s worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.79 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control themarketplace.... not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people. I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us sends it to at least ten more (30 x 10 =3D 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =3D 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you? Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Entry for October 25, 2006(Election Year) Seems as if every time there is an election year, politicians have nothing better to do but bash one another, instead of telling us what they will do to better the economy(bringing back jobs,increasing the minimum wage, dealing with the fuel prices(increasing fuel mileage , finding better ways to decrease foreign oil)controlling the global warming, protecting our rain forests, and parks(what we have left of our heritage for generations to come).Instead of drilling, increase the fuel mileage, and find other ways and means for fuel(solar energy, hybrids, windmills). There has been alot of corruption in this government, as we have found out, and the republicans are trying to avoid alot of issues. We need people that will work for the people , not corporations, lobbyists, or the so called rich(not all are bad)Keep the politics out of the peoples homes(pro, or anti-choice activists) ,after all it is a womans body, and they too have rights. No president is above the law either. We need people in office that are not afraid to stick to the Constitution, and protect the people's rights. We need people that are willing to find a better way to lower our taxes(NY being the highest tax rated). No more dipping into the pork barrels for personal gain either.A politician that gives themselves a raise during a war, is only looking out for themselves. They make enough, even more than enough. They get paid more for jusyt showing up at least 2 to3 weeks total a year, and not all show up when needed for a vote or whatever, but yet they all show up to give themselves a raise, and leave out raining minimum raise in the process. Men and woman are dying to help another country out, and our government worries about giving themselves a raise. They don't pay taxes, or into Social Security, but they would like a raise anyway. It is time that we have taken back this country and vote for all the right reasons, not for what some politicians try to use (fear as an example: terrorism) towards us to win the elections. I am a Conservative(Republican-Democrat-does it really matter), I do go out and Vote, because like some I want to make a difference,but vote for who I feel is right for office. Do the votes count? I would hope so, electorial Votes should be done away with, since we no longer have 13 states, but now have 50.We have been fooled as to the war in Iraq, whether right or wrong, diplomacy would have been the right way to have gone. We should have tried harder in that retrospect.Whether I am against it or not it feels as if we are at another Viet-Nam. Have we not learned anything from that war?I am not out to bash anyone, this is my right as to Freedom of Speech, and I am expressing my opinion. Since Bush has been in office, our gas prices have doubled, cost of living has gone up, we have gone to war, more lives lost do to a war that should have never been(as seen from today), there has been alot of corruption with the Republicans in office(which they avoid the issues). Which I believe that most of you know what I am talking about. We all need to speak out more..Another thing that bothers me is Religion and Politics do not mix. Religion has not, nor should ever be, mixed with politics. Men and woman have died for this country to protect our freedom, and lately it seems as if we are being stripped away piece by piece of our rights and beliefs. When you Vote, if you Vote at all, please vote for what is right, not because you are being scared into voting , but because your rights might be at stake, your choices, your beliefs. VOTE with a conscience. Tell them Enough is Enough, we want our Jobs here, we want to be able to make our own choices, we do not want to be taxed(Remember the Boston Tea party, thats a hint), as we are over taxed already. Woman should be able to make there own choices. As to abortion, or non abortion,it is a woman's body, not the politicians. Eve'e dropping should also not be allowed unless warranted. We have the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution put in place for a reason. No politician, or President is above the law. I chose to use my freedom to speak out, listen if you will, if not, that too is your choice. We make choices every day, but when it comes to election year lets make the RIGHT CHOICE. Let us not forget about all the corruption, and lies , and the deciet from those in office now when we do go out to vote. Those that do Vote , vote with a Conscience, and for those that do not , Please go out and Vote , because whether you believe it or not, your vote does count. You can not complain much , if you have not voted . Vote!!, and it gives you reason enough to complain. I know that when I go vote, I will not forget abbout all the corruption, lies or deciete, when I cast mine.
