The most significant features of a friend are faithfulness and warm-heartedness. They make life so endurable. Listening to their laughter and sharing the most enjoyable times with them is the utmost feeling of all from/with friends. Everyday, I see them through thick and thin, they help me through adversity to reach my greatest accomplishment!
Someone once defined a "friend" as: "the one who remains at your side when everybody else has left you." This just shows how important it is for us to have a warm and faithful friend. It is often only after we have been deeply touched that we truly understand the value of friendship, and truly cherish our friends.
So try to spend more time with your friends... before it's too late !

and never give up on a sister or brother."People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you
know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When
someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have
expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide
you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or
spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for
the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part
or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring
the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled,
their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is
time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come
to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you
laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give
you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a
season .
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build
upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept
the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind
but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season
or a lifetime..." WE ALL NEED FRIENDS "
(Something to think about...) It has been a hard enough life. I have had a sight problem since birth so I have no clear sight of colors. Colors are dull but I can imagine what they look like bright.
I grew up in a household with mom and my younger sister having the same problem as I. It made it easy to cope with my sight and help my sis cope with hers. School was hard in the beginning because the other kids made fun of me. But I took it in and kept it inside.
I was in public school from K to 9th grade and then I got to go to Perkins School for the Blind in the 10th grade. They were a year behind the public school, so that meant I went back the 9th grade.
After I finished school, I got married and had three kids. Everyone told me I could not handle them, but to their surprise, they grew up to be successful in their lives. I worked in a publishing house that was called National Braille Press. I learned to read braille there; they would not teach me it in school because I had too much sight. I learned to read, write, and put together braille books.
These days I am working at Options Clubhouse where I help others get on the computers and onto the Internet. In addition, I have been working in a public café. I was scared initially because of my sight, but when I started working there everyone was so nice and no one saw me as a blind women.
It stills hurts inside, but I have been lucky that I have people who see me as I am and don't look at me as a person with a sight problem. A person is a person and should be looked at like a person and not someone different. We are all different in some way, so we should treat others the same way you would like to be treated. We all need friends.
" HOW WE AFFECT OTHERS "
(A touching story for the Heart...) My second year attending college I moved 300 miles away from my home of six years and entered a private Christian college. I was thrilled that I was going to attend my first pick school. My favorite class was English I with Professor Wilcox. He encouraged creativity and open thought which was right up my alley.
Throughout high school I has been pretty much told what to write and what to think. I enjoyed the challenge of his vague writing assignments; it made me have to really think about what I put down on paper.
As the school year progressed I became very ill and missed several of my classes. I apologized over and over to my professors for missing their classes, and I did the assignments out of hospital rooms or between trips to specialists and weekly doctors visits. At the end of the term my medical condition had improved some and I was able to start doing some of the extra credit to make up for my daily grades. I worked double time to bring my grades up.
The day of my English final, Professor Wilcox approached me and handed me a single sheet of rose pink paper. He told me to read on my way home to Texas. I decided that I couldn't wait and the second I stepped into my dorm room I opened the paper and read aloud. He had wanted to thank me for encouraging him throughout the school year.
In his letter he described the plight of a young woman, the youngest in her class, struggling with sickness and a full class schedule that somehow managed to pull herself up by her bootstraps and muttle through the year.
The last line of his letter read as follows: "I have watched you thoroughly enjoy yourself in my class, and I have read of your struggle against all odds to stay in school. You truly personify my favorite verse in the book of Psalms. Thank you for showing the world how to be brave and how to rely completely on God." He then went on to quote the following verse: "I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand; I will NOT be shaken." (-Psalm 16:8)
I hadn't realized it at the time but everything we do and say affects other people. My being sick had helped a professor I barely knew to get through a very trying time in his life. I just want everyone to know that even though things may seem rough, there will always be better days ahead.
