What are you waiting for?

Friday Morning

Yesterday was pretty rough. I drove to the store, which is about a 7 minute drive, and boy was that a mistake! I went in for a couple of things, and by the time I got out I was in some serious pain. I had to get someone to come up and drive my car home. I went straight to bed with the ice pack and felt better after a little nap. Around 8:30pm there was a fire call. My dad took Andrew to the station, but the truck was full. He stayed up there to get credit for responding, and I went up to pick him up afterwords. Keep in mind the station is only 2 blocks from my house but it was pouring rain. I didn't think it would be a problem. I went in to tell Chief what was going on with my back, and was greeted with a dead battery when I got out. Andrew walked home in the pouring rain to get my mom while I stayed with the car. Between waiting for AAA, getting the car jumped, and letting it run for a bit, we sat there for a good hour. By the time we got home, Andrew had to come out to the car and almost carry me into the house and help me into bed. This time it took the ice pack and Advil to ease the pain a little. My legs felt like cooked spaghetti. All from driving a car! I guess you don't realize which muscles you use while driving. Needless to say, I'm pretty freaked out. I hate feeling helpless, and I'm so not used to depending on other people for such little things. I'm having to learn to ask more, and it's driving me nuts! Andrew is such a good kid! He is very worried about me, and I feel bad for putting him through that. I have made it a routine in this house to get up and have breakfast with him in the morning and see him off to school. My mother did it for my sister and me, and it was a comfort for us. This whole week, Andrew has been getting up and making breakfast for himself, and getting on the bus. He told me to not set my alarm, and just sleep in. I'm not going into any details about why this is a big deal for him to be able to do this, but it is a huge step for him. I'm so proud of him! Well, I'm off to the Chiropractor. He's going to yell at me. I just know it. LOL I hope all of you have a wonderful day! xoxo Laurie
