I wake up in the dead of night,
screaming with fear, shaking with fright,
there's no one to hold me, no one to care,
damn it God why is life so unfair.
The beatings where often, day and night,my poor little girl had to watch what daddy would do,
not a day went by i was'nt crying , and holding her tight,
she would see mommy all black and blue.
The last beating i took,
the worst by far,
he beat me so bad, and locked me in the trunk
of the car.
My head was swollen,
i was black and blue,
i knew there was nothing i could do,
i laid in the trunk quiet as a mouse,
i heard him slam the door and go back in the house
Thoughts started running through my head,
Oh dear god , does he think i am dead,
the space is cramped, so dark so small,
all alone i begin to bawl,
please don't hurt her, like you do me,
oh God i can't see.
I cannot see, i cannot breathe,
damn you why did'nt i leave,
i hear him coming, i hear the key,
oh whats going to happen to me.
The trunk lid opened, and through swollen eyes,
i looked up, it was'nt him, to my surprise,
two uniformed men where standing there.
How did you find me,
How did you know,
did someone call you?
did someone care,
enough to get me out of there.
The officer looked at me, and said,
your little girl called 911,
save my mommy before she is dead,
what a precious angel the officer said.
My little girl, who is only three,
unfortunatly had to be the one to save me,
this is over, we are through,
the abuse the hatred, has come to an end.
My baby girl can't live like this,
what would have happened to her,
if i did'nt survive this.
I can't think , i need to rest,
my little angel your the best,
mommy's here today because of you,
together we will start anew.
