Spread's blog: "Feel the Like"

created on 08/20/2015  |  http://fubar.com/feel-the-like/b364345

Much of what made great is the fact that the shoes were running shoes disguised as hiking gear. The Nike Lebron 10 wore thinner disguises than most. Lightweight boots were already a thing, but never quite like this. Essentially a Huarache runner with a full-height neoprene collar and a more aggressive outsole, the Nike Lebron 10 is legendary for good reason.

From the look of the outsole I thought that the Nike Lebron 10 would have very good traction on all types of terrain. has an aggressive lug pattern and it almost looks similar to what a golf shoe looks like. When these shoes arrived I was very excited, so much so that I wore them to the office the next day, just to “break them in”. Well, that’s what I tell myself anyway. It just so happens that I was able to go on a trail run that same evening. This is one of the first pair I’ve had that even after very long distances my feet feel fine, no issues. Not hot spots, no pain, no rubbing. The colorful topographical map-inspired look makes this pair of kicks one of the best looking trail shoes around. I have found very few that i like and even fewer that haven’t given me a hot spot on my big toe. Most of my miles are asphalt, pea gravel and concrete but the majority of my races are trail, so I’m always on the hunt for the perfect shoe. It is clear and looks like it is intended for waterproofing purposes/ added protection but that is only speculation. When running in wet conditions I found that this shoe stays dryer for longer than your average trail shoe.

The under-forefoot area of Nike Lebron 10 is now a complete layer of Lunarlon foam which is much softer. Normally I wear a less-traditional trail shoe with a lower heel-toe offset, so diving into a shoe like the Nike Lebron 10 is abnormal for me. For this reason I have been surprised how much I have enjoyed running the trails of Boulder in this shoe. Despite the firm underfoot feel the shoe rides very smooth. Despite the 12mm drop the shoe has a very natural feel. The shoe is plenty protective and yet delivers a lightweight, nimble package. The sleek, seamless feel and the natural, smooth ride is what has won me over to this shoe in a big way.

People always freak when a shoe company discontinues THEIR SHOE. I’m sure Ascend lovers were skeptical when Mizuno decided to rid their line of it. I ran several miles on the road and the Nike Lebron 10 felt great even when waterlogged. The feels really stable. On the trail this Nike Lebron 10 felt fast and even without a rock plate they were highly effective in tough spots. On the road my stride was affected by the 12mm heel-to-toe grade, with a lot more heel striking and clunkiness than I am used to.
