As the day comes, I prepare myself for yet another gift from God. Yet as I ready my arm to work towards the button holes, with lidocaine, saran wrap. Preparing my flesh for the mechanical vampire, who feeds upon the poison of my blood. For the hungry machine who gives me another day in life, removing the toxins from me. Returning the blood to my flesh, cleaned and fresh, in order to live yet another day.
Even tho, I am still new to this, I have learned so much from the others, and God Bless the Techs. For now I feel a purpose again, to be around longer and stronger now then before.
Even when I was ready to give up, because of the pain, thanks to my Social Worker, Davita and Friends, I now look forward to sit again 3hrs a day and 3 days a week.
I know in the end, that I too will be there if not for Davita, Friends, and my Fiance' and kidney idol,Scott, my life would of came to an end.
For I am not as one alone, but Davita, Friends and Scott, we are as one now till the end.
That day that I recieve the precious gift from God and the Donors Family, my transplant, I will return the favor of life given to me by becoming a Davita Tech. Only then will I be whole again and continue with, "The Family Of Strength.
This is to be published in the Davita chonicles, which I am very proud of and happy, for this is my first poem and everybody at Davita cried when I gave this to my Social Worker. Thank you for taking the time to read this, have a good one and take care, Eviltaz247
