The last one I saw of these a couple of years ago was a lot of fun so I thought I would have a crack at it. For the next four weeks I will be running a Scavenger Hunt Salute contest. You must have me listed as a friend to enter. Just send a request if you aren't already listed. 

How it works:

Each week for the next 4 weeks I will post clues to the 3 items of the week with the clues getting progressively harder each week(and more point value). One on Fridays and a second one on Mondays. When you figure out the item make a salute with that item in the shot and "SilverOak" handwritten somewhere in the shot. Be creative and have fun with it. Email the salute to silveroak23@gmail.com with your screen name and the item name and number in the subject. (eg If the 1st item in week 1 was a pickle you would put "Your SN week 1 item 1 Pickle" You have until the following week's clues are given to submit your response. No penalty for wrong guesses so when in doubt feel free to send multiple guesses. Multiple correct entires are allowed to try to increase your chance of a bonus but one one submission will be worth points. 

I will post the pics in a folder with the number of points awarded. If for some reason you don't want a particular photo posted, let me know and I will put up a placeholder graphic instead. 

Bonus points awarded for: ~Being the 1st correct answer. ~Submitting a correct answer before the 2nd clue. ~Judge's choice for going above and beyond with an impressive submission. 

 

Do NOT upload your entries onto fubar before the answers are revealed.  If you post your pics, then you run the risk of someone who hasn't figured out the clue drafting off your hard work. 

At the end of the contest the person with the most points will win a Godmode, maybe more if participation and creativity is high. Smaller prizes will be awarded to runners up and everyone who plays will get something. Mystery bonuses will be awarded for the overall contest. 

You may bribe the judge for hints. I won't outright  tell you the item but I will try to steer you in the right direction. 

 

Late comers are welcome and could in fact still win since the point values increase towards the end. 

Feel free to ask questions if anything is not clear. 

The 1st week items are worth 1 point for correct answers and the bonuses will be in 1 point increments.

Early Bird Special for the 1st week. You all get an extra day.

Week 1

Item 1: WAFFLES

Clue 1: I was undecided and wavering about my early start to this contest. You might even say I worried if the contest itself was eggotistic of me. It just feels right in my gut though.

Clue 2:  That syrupy sweetness is only to butter me up. I have been around you little squares.

Item 2: MELON

Clue 1: When my Collie and I witnessed the smashing of my cousins, it made me infinitely sad.

Clue 2: If you don't finish your "honey do" list, you can't elope. What 'er  you gonna do then?

Item 3 LACE

Clue 1: Linda  loves me, although I think it was because there was something extra in that joint.

Clue 2: Don will give you his leather for it. 

 

5/5/11- 5/13/11 Week 2

correct answers are worth 2 points and all bonuses are worth 2 points

Item 1: GLITTER

Clue 1: I may not be gold, but I am "all that"

Clue 2: Hey! be like Gary and rock and roll. 

 

Item 2: ROSE

Clue 1: I don't care what you call me, just be sweet. 

Clue 2: Give me a few guns and this city would be paradise.

 

Item 3: TOILET PAPER

Clue 1: I am around 500 sq feet in size , yet I  can fit in the tiny closet of even the most charmin' country cottage.

Clue 2: Great Scott! All I ever seem to do is take crap from everyone. I deserve a better role. 

 

Week 3 

Items are worth 4 pts and all bonuses are 4pts

Item 1: Clock

1st Clue: I have a nervous tic, I am constantly moving my hands across my face all the time. 

2nd clue: I may be cuckoo sometimes, but I have a nice dong.

 

Item 2: Towel

1st clue: Don't give up and throw me in frustration. 

2nd: The more I dry, the wetter I get. 

 

Item3 Pen

!st Clue:  If you write out this clue,  things might gel and you will get the point. 

2nd clue: Make me black and blue, and it's legal.

 

Week 4 Final Week 8 points and 8 point bonuses

Item 1 Ruler

1st clue:  Do you think I would measure up as King?

2nd clue: I'll bet you're just inces away from guessing this one.

 

Item 2 Stockings (clue one referenced STOCKard channING)

Ist clue: This clue might be fishy but I begin and end with Rizzo.

2nd clue: If you don't get this one, Santa will put coal in me. 

 

Item 3 Bra

1st clue: Hey Tex, wanna play? Be a sport and it'll be off the hook. Cross my heart. 

2nd clue: I am sized similar to batteries, capisce?

 

 

End of game bonuses:

Freeform entry about  the contest overall. 

People's choice bonus for the amount of support your freinds bring to your entries.

Entry that somehow honors a movie/show/song you like and me at the same time. 

 

 

The points are bigger this week so catching up is easy to do.  Late submissions for weeks one and two can get half credit. 

 

Everyone did an excellent job and it was neck to neck. In the end, gemtaur blew away the support portion not only with the rates but with putting the contest in a blast. That put her over the edge for the victory. All others will get their choice of 2 boomers or an auto, or a cherry bomb. Thank you for participating and for makng it a lot of fun.  I may do another one in the future based on how fun it was.
