Waiting to see Santa- sure I wasn't a 50's baby , but I remember it wasn't so different than this growing up. Until these days. Mother can't just leave their kids standing in a line because of "stranger theiving". Instead kids bare brutal witness to Mothers at war with eachother in toy isles.
{laughs} Though watching this brings back so many memories of this movie "A Christmas Story" This was THE Christmas movie. I think it still is to this day. mums still don't buy kids that bb gun (typically) unless they give the warning you becareful, or you'll shoot your eye out.
So many great memories.
The Pink bunny costume.. {lol} how many of us still have crazy aunts that give you crap like that.. that is when you just have to assure yourself (or your kids) that its the thought that counts anyway. {giggles}
Kids do the meanest things. I have to admit- I did try this when I was little. who didn't I mean who didnt want to try it even more AFTER seeing this submlinial idea instilling movie?!
The biggest let down. The truth when you find out about the reality is a "fan club". Damned those decoder rings you could get out of the cracker jack boxes. Damn them.. sublminal messaging in its finest hour. Damn them!
so I couldnt find clips of the greatest scenes like the cursing with the soap (I experienced that in its finest from my grandmother) But I did find- a scene that yep- reminds me of my own "A Christmas Story - Chinese turkey,"That I have to this day. And then All was well.
