Only if You Understood (The Mood)



V1 I live in a world where most rules no longer apply. Everything now had changed. The days are filed more with the thoughts of what could have been. Why does love have to hurt so much? Why do we always learn to trust? How do we know when the time is right?
CH Sitting here with move and doubt. Tears rolling down my face. When will I win this race? My time has to come soon. From the bottom I can seethe light. But how can I reach it when I have lost all my might?
V2 The power to feel is slipping away. Why does she not want me to feel? I try so hard to make her smile. But all along I wonder is it all worthwhile? The rage, the pain, the reason to trust is almost gone! I try and make it with nothing at all. When will it just come my way and fall?

V3 The music I hear in my head is out of tune and the words are red. I try and see the way things used to be. But my vision is failing me. The little smiles of the two heartbeats, they fill my life with the will to live. I have to remember them. They are all I have!

V4 These Block walls are all that comfort me. But it’s not the same. They don’t belong to me, they are owned by another. I try my best to make them home. But no matter what, I am still alone. I change the color and the places of what I see. No longer trying to be me.
V5 Who am I and why am I here? What did I do to be put in here? My prison is not living free. The love of a family is what I have. I won’t change that but why do they? I push and pull without any force. My muscles are week and I can’t take anymore.

V6 Only a photo of my son sits by my bed. The smile, that look says “I Love You Daddyâ€. My whole world has been taken from me. Some one else is trying to be me. The Daughter I love is always by my side. She loves me unconditionally. She shares a box with only one window. I have put her in prison right along with me. What kind of father could do this? But how can he make it better for her. When all he has is love?
V7 The time will come when things will be better. You wait and see. The world will open up with arms out straight smiling at me. The balance will then return, the laughter, the cheers, the hugs and kisses. The person I haven’t been in so many years!
