Recently The head of the Border Patrol Union endorsed Trump for President. I don't have a problem with the support for Trump, but the reasoning behind it. He stated that current policy is lack and encourages migrants to cross the border illegally. He sights "catch and release" Policy. The problem with that argument is it is not policy but constitutional mandate. The US Supreme Rule that it was unlawful to detain immigrant over 90 days for just removal proceedings. The case was decided in 2001 and has been in effect ever since. Now why did he not complaint about this in 2001 and request congressional action?

A: He thinks Trump will allow the Border Patrol to defy the court.

B: He is ignorant of the court decision.

C: It is more about who the president is.
