Sorry I haven't been around to respond to everyones wonderfull comments or rate your profile pics like I usually do but I was in an accident on tuesday that has left me in a lot of pain so I've been sleeping when I would normally be on here... every ones been asking me what happend and Ive been telling it over and over again so I thought ide post it here for all to read..
My friend and I, the guy whom gives me a ride to work everday, were on our way to work in his truck. We had just been talking about how great the roads were compared to what we had expected, they had been 0really bad the night before on our way home. We were talking about how we should have brought the car instead when we hit a patch of ice commonly refeared to as black ice in these parts cause you really dont see it intell your on it. He started to loose controle and almost regained it only to loose it again. I think i had about 10 differnt things run through my head all at once at the moment I seen we were going off the road and into the ditch on the opposite side of the highway. I heard my friend saying oh shit buddy hold on I think we're going in. and when I seen it I closed my eyes and thought why couldnt it be a shallow ditch? what I was looking at was at least 100 feet nearly strait down. And I remember thinking this is going to hurt. I didnt see much after that as I said before my eyes were closed cause It was scarry. We rolled at least 4 times where I felt like I rolled around the truck like a tumble weed before I found myself lieng in the snow. I thouth I had my seatbelt on, they say it was torn but I dont think I would have been thrown from the truck if it were trully on. I was concious through the whole thing but I dont know if i went out the winshild or the door. I remember opening my eyes long enough to see the winshild dissapear but I think I was thrown out my door as it was hanging open. I remember hitting the snow and thinking you got to be kidding me and im still alive? I wonder how much this is going to hurt. My friend "mike" may have lost conciounce as he later thought he to was trown from the truck, but Im certain he crawled out of the truck to check on me asking me if i was ok. I didnt know yet, I knew I hurt really bad. It took me a moment to reorinate myself and figure out wich direction was up and when I did I could'nt believe it. it was nearly vertical not quite but you get the idea. scary! the truck was destroyed. The big metal tool box that was originially bolted down in the back of this big ford 4 weal drive was now some how planted firmly in front of the truck. I was just glad it wasnt on me or mike. He was bleeding out the mouth and nose pretty good. He started up the hill to the road we couldnt see the road from where we were so I said wait for me theres no way Im waiting down here in the snow. Mike kept asking me if I was allright and telling me he was so sorry. I was having problems moving, my back and sides were killing me I could barly breath it hurt so bad. We made it to the top where I colapsed to me knees while the first car to come to us drove right on by with out slowing down.
It wasnt long before a van passed and then came back around to help us they made room for me to lie down while mike called for help. we were both taken to the hospital via ambulance after being strapped onto some boards. That really sucked as my back didnt want to be strait let alone laid on at the time. they finially gave me some pain medication at the hospitol to my great relief. They ran a ton of x-rays and started a cat scan but the cat scan broke down so i had to go back the next day to coplete that. They didnt find the fractured disk in my spine the first day due to cat scan failure but they did the second day. so apparently I have a fractured disk (T 12) for anyone that knows where thats at.. and some bruised ribs. The fire men and ambulance drivers couldnt believe we walked away from it when they showed up they went strait down the hill to the truck thinking we still had to be in it. I was in the van of the wonderful people that stoped to help us and he was with the officer explaining what happend. He may have had a concusion but beyond that suffered a bloody nose and was otherewise found to be ok... we got verry lucky. I currently have a lifting restriction wich may have cost me my job wich really sucks cause it was the best job Ive had in a long time. And to top it off his insurance is only liability so they wont pay lost wages and only 5000 for medical bills. that only covers the ambulance ride which really sucks.
Im going to be taking pics of the truck soon to put on here. Mike took pics of it coming out of the ditch I'll be posting those as well, once he gets them here anyway. once again sorry all but now you can see why I havent been here much lately my back is really sore even with the medication so its hard for me to sit in one place for a really long time. love you all!
