I originally wasn't going to post this, but here goes.
I'm a father of 3 kids with my ex-wife, ages 4, 6 and 8. They had made up Christmas cards for me while I was visiting them today. This was of course after some fussing between the boys and some general fun and joking around.
In my 6 year old boy's card, he wrote a little joke, addressed me by my name and said he hated me.
I was stunned really. My ex was the one to punish him and apologize.
There's a possibility he may have been joking around and not knowing better, he is 6 after all. On the other hand, I have to wonder if it's something I should worry about. I don't know if it's him trying to cope with us not being together or the lack of time he has had with me in the past couple years do to my ex and I not being together.
Even my ex was telling me not to take it personally and that he probably didn't know any better, but I'm not sure.
I just want to know what the popular vote is here or maybe there's another scenario I haven't thought of.
