Well for those of you who don't know I had a Stroke in March of 2005. It was a hemorraghic stroke which means that my aneurysm broke (the other kind of stroke is when you get a clot like a heart attack which is most common.)My stroke is usually fatal but I was very lucky and survived.
Some of you all knew I was going for an MRI for my annual checkup because I wrote a mumm about drug'in myself before I went because I freak out when I get them. And some of you asked me to let you know what came about at my visit. Well here it is.....
The test wasn't real good. They were hoping that it would of healed diffently. One of the four coils they put in my head didn't spring right. This coil is located at the very tip/mouth of my aneurysm. Well it has been leaking a little and they want to go and see how much it is bleeding because I am so young they don't want to just let it go. I am scheduled to have an Angiogram which is very much like a heart catherization except it's in my brain instead of my heart. I have had 3 other Angiograms first was to see the anuerysm right after it broke the second to put coils in and the third to check on the coil that missed fired. All of them were within a matter of a couple weeks of eachother back in 2005. The risk is I could have another stroke while they work on me or possibly a heart attack. I am awake thru this event and I am allergic to the contrast dye they put in so it is painful for me...wine with my cheese yes.... I am okay and will be okay I am just nervous about it just because my dr is pretty straight forward and tells me everything good and the bad which is a good thing but it makes me nervous. the damage to my brain when I had the stroke affected my short term memory so I forget stuff like words, what i tell people, what I did with something, and even have when to a grocery store twice in one day and bought the same things.. yes I am nuts LOL... So wish me luck!
love
Angie
