The moon high in the sky
The land covered in dew
Mist rolls through the trees
As I ride to meet you
Upon my mighty steed
Cutting through the night
Blinded by my love
I land in the midst of a fight
The grass no longer green
The trees all splintered in half
Bodies as far as my eye can see
Death being the dark wizards craft
The moon is blocked out
The smoke strangling the sky
All my ears hear
Makes me want to cry
Limbs scattered upon the ground
Dying men drawing their final breaths
Spears of ungodly steel
Marking every man upon their breast
Arrows coming to close
Barely missing my head
What am I to do
I soon shall be dead
Unsheathing my sword
The light of death making it gleam
I urge my steed into the battle
All hoping this is but a dream
I swing my sword
I can feel it cut to the bone
How many will I have to kill
How many will barely make it home
The men start to fall
Like chess pieces upon a board
Blood covering my face
As more fall from my sword
But wait, the last one
Who just fell to the ground
What hits my pounding ears
Is a most horrid sound
I quickly turn around
And look to the warrior falling to their knees
The voice calls out to me
I know it and pray it can not be
I remove the splintered helmet
And look deep within familiar eyes
As a tear travels down my face
I see my love and begin to cry
She cries out to me
As I lower her shattered body to the ground
Blood starts to form at her lips
To me there is only her around
I scream up at the sky
As she shakes within my arms
The one I loved is not but a ghost
And I swore I would do her no harm
I kiss her soft bloody lips
As I gently close her beautiful eyes
I lift her into my shaking arms
As I carry her away from all the death cries
Deep within the moon struck forest
Sitting alone a tree stump of such might
I lay my fallen lovers body upon it
The clearing filled with such enchanted light
I fall to my knees
And beg the gods to forgive my horrid act
I loved her beyond the scope of mere words
If I could only take it all back
Without a thought I take my sword
As I caress her stone cold hand
I raise it to my gut
As I feel it slip in like sand
The light begins to fade
As my breathing begins to slow
I can see my queen waiting for me
At that moment I just let go
