The name is derived from the Danish and Swedish form perspectively Kaj and Kai. My parents and assured yours were worried about you being called Kadge and Kay. So the respelled it phonetically and came up with Ki. My parents made it formal and added the LE, thusly Kile and nickname Ki. Also, the name is NOT to be confused with the commanner name of Kyle which come from Europe.
