What are you waiting for?
For the 1st time in my life I am ashamed of our government and the American People. Our government has always been a government of and for the People of this country. With 65 to 70 percent of the People of the United States not in favor of this Health Care legislation, the Federal government has decided that this issue should be forced down the People's throat whether we like it or not. They have now treated the People like small children who do not know what's best for them and by God they are going to show us what is no matter what. And we have no choice in this at all. The People have spoken and we have been told to shut up and enjoy the ride. To shut up and do what we have been told. The Democrats have decided they know best what is good for the country and the rest of us are just spoiled children who know nothing. Not only is this the biggest power grab in the history of the United States, it is also the start of the dismantling of our republic. As "We, the People" allow more and more government takeover and errosion of our freedoms, the government will little by little, take more away from us. What's to stop them? Evidently the People won't. And we have only ourselves to blame. As the People look more and more for the government to look after them, to do for them what they should for themselves, they will give more and more power to that government. And soon, as has just been proven, we will have no say in what that government does. Since this Administration was elected, the United States has seen it's national debt rise by a factor of 5 and yet they still spend, spend, spend. What will the United States do when China (who has financed our debt) call to cash in their chips and we can't pay them off. We become a third rate country is what will happen. And now the Government has decided to take over a sixth of the economy. Not only that. They have lied to the People saying that neither our debt nor our taxes will rise. If the People are ignorant enough to believe these lies, then the People deserve the Socialist Government the Democrats have craved for decades. As the government is allowed to amass more and more power, it is only logical the it comes at the expense of the People. And it is a damned shame that the People are allowing it to happen.
It is time for the People to take back their government for we have lost control of it. I, for one, am ashamed of our Government for doing this and am ashamed of the People for allowing it. All I can say is "God Help Us". We seem to have lost the ability to help ourselves.
