The land of france sent a statue to America
An said here you are, friends they will remain
Like a friendship this statue will survive the rain
Big in size and weight, how to load it to America i bet was a debate
Perhaps in anougher day the statue could of have been blue
Some people say it changed from the rain, maybe they where insane
Copper /Iron made and a woman standing up straight
Holding a torch and a book wearing a robe and a halo
If you ever see a picture of what that books says
Has a date which America was created, independance from a land
July 4, 1776, french men and women seen American people seek freedom
Which of course was from England, at a time of anger and demand
Thets also take a look at the tourch
Gold leaf was painted all over this area
French where very smart, they had a very big heart
Money spent for this new land

Many people who left their countries for a better life
Husbands and wives, children as well seen this statue welcome them

Was origionally for Egypt but money and problems came
Americans built the base and the French built the statue
Money again needed to be raised, which was a task
Musicians and donations of the sort
Many people made an effort
Bartholdi needed a team, to help accomplish the dream
Even the man who created the Eiffel Tower
Intellegence and money where the tops powers
Even rain had sent the deadline behind
At the end of the final day
All the people gathered around
Noticing they just created something so artistic and profound
