My son has made the decision to go into active duty once he graduates. He will be leaving in July for five months to go to training to become an MP. Then we will just have to wait and see what happens. I am happy he is going into this feild, it has been what he has wanted since he was a small boy. And i am so proud of him, even if he doesn't know it. My love is as any parents, undying, and unconditional. I just hope he realizes that.

WELL HERE IT IS! I TOLD YA I WOULD BE SHOUTIN IT FROM THE ROOF TOPS!!!!!!! MY SON IS HOME! HE GOT IN THIS EVENING!!!! I WILL ADMIT I CRIED WHEN HE CAME IN!!! HE LOOKS SO GOOD, STRONG AND PROUD. HE WENT IN THE ROOM TO GET HIS BABY SISTER OUT OF BED, SHE JUST JUMPED UP AND LATCHED ONTO HIS NECK AND WOULDN'T LET GO!! OF COARSE I HUGGED HIM UNTIL HE COULDN'T BREATH! HE EVEN HAD THE DOG JUMPIN UP TO HIM!!!! I WILL SLEEP EASY TONIGHT KNOWIN HE IS IN THE NEXT ROOM!I WILL PUT SOME PICS UP AS SOON AS I CAN! WE ARE ALL SO GREATFULL THAT HE IS HOME,I DON'T WANT TO LET HIM OUT OF MY SIGHT FOR AWHILE! I JUST WANTED ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO BE ABLE TO SHARE IN OUR JOY! MUCH LOVE TO YOU ALL AND MANY, MANY BLESSINGS!!!!

Don't you hate when your kids ask this question?!..lol But that's how I feel right now! Grant only has 9 days until he graduates from BCT, and he is so very ready to come home! I got a letter from him yesterday, and he is doing ok. He tore a muscle on the top of his foot and has been on "light duty" for the last two weeks. This, of coarse is not the term the Army uses, but basically what it means. The guys in his platoon are pissed off because he hasn't been able to do any PT activities while they of coarse do. But what is really pissing them off is when they get reprimanded and have to do all those damn push ups, he doesn't have to do them. Well, he didn't until today that is, because he goes back to normal duty as of today. I say if the lil shit's would stop acting stupid they wouldn't get in trouble and wouldn't have to do the damn push ups! But maybe that's just the protective mom in me coming out! But while they are bitching and complaining he has had to pay a price for being on light duty as well. Now he is unable to leave on his graduation day, he has to make up the pt stuff he missed, so that puts him behind a few days. Not sure what day he will be home yet, but you guys know that when he gets home i will be shoutin it from the roof tops!!!!!

Well here i go again, blabbing about my son! But isn't that what mom's do?!...lol Grant has about two 1/2 weeks left and then he will be home! At times i didn't think it was ever gonna end! He did well on his M16 qualifying, got Marksman. Although he wasn't too happy thta he didn't make expert marksmen, he's only 19 he has time to improve. But he's alot like me, when i strive to reach a certain goal. I get pissed if I miss the mark, and try it until I do! Just the perfectionist VIRGO in me I guess!....Certain friends know what is going on with Grant, and i can't wait to hug him abd kiss him, tell him how much i missed him....then give him a rude piece of SMALITY! What is this u ask? A word my brother and I came up with to describe a motha fu**in smack of reality! ...lmao. and my son does know this! you guys remember how it was to be a teen....think they know everything!! I will keep everyone posted on how he does and his graduation....as long as the ptb's allow this to stay on!!..lol much love and blessings to all my friends.

Well, my handsome son called yesterday!! It's about time! He is doing well, very ready to come home. He went through the gas chamber without any problems, and has been doing a lot of marksmanship exercise. Surprisingly enough he is one of the oldest in his platoon, even though he is only 19! This is very frustrating for him as he has never been young minded, and has always been around older people. The others are acting their age unfortunately and the e rest of them are paying for it! Sucks but I understand the reasoning. Thank God it's almost over, I can't wait for him to come home!!!!

Grant HAS BEEN GONE FOR ALMOST ONE MONTH AND IS DOING WELL. i HAVE NOT SPOKEN TO HIM SINCE July 2ND, BUT HAVE RECIEVED SEVERAL LETTERS FROM HIM. HE HAS BEEN EXCITED THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, THEY HAVE BEEN ISSUED THEIR M16'S, AND HAVE BEEN LEARNING HOW TO TAKE THEM APART AND PUT THEM TOGETHER, REPELLING OFF 50FT. TOWERS, HANDLING GRENADES, AND THIS SATURDAY HE WILL BE ENTERING THE GAS CHAMBER. THAT ONE HE SAYS HE'S NOT TOO THRILLED ABOUT! NOW THAT I KNOW WHAT IT IS, I WOULD'NT BE EITHER.....LOL (TEAR GAS) ALTHOUGH HE LIKES WHAT HE IS DOING, HE IS ANXIOUS TO COME HOME. I AM VERY READY FOR HIM TO COME HOME AS WELL. UPON HIS RETURN WE ARE HAVING A BIG BBQ FOR HIM, TO CELEBRATE HIS RETURN AS WELL AS THE BIRTHDAY HE MISSED. ACTUALLY WE WILL CELEBRATE HIS AND HIS SISTER'S BIRTHDAY, AS SHE WILL BE TURNING 16 ONLY 5 DAYS AFTER HIS RETURN. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED AS TO HIS PROGRESS! TO ALL MY FRIENDS THAT HAVE GIVEN ME AND CONTINUE TO GIVE ME SUPPORT, I SEND ALL MY LOVE AND BRIGHT BLESSINGS!

Grant has now been in basic for 1 week, and doing well. Yesterday was his birthday! My son is now 19 years old! He sent a brief note which I got today. If anyone wants to write to him i will give you the address!

Well Grant has called a couple of times since he has left, but today we got to talk for more than 2 min! He is still in recieving, and not doing alot as of yet. He will be entering basic by Thursday, then the real work begins!! Each time he has called he tells me he doesn't miss us.....YET! But for the first time today he is actually starting to miss his family. I think it's because he has had alot of time on his hands! That will soon come to an end, and after about a month then maybe he will have time to entertain the thought of being homesick. But he is a very strong young man and will be just fine. We are all doing ok, I think his sisters miss him the most of all. (except for his dog) I will keep everyone posted on his progress.

Well, the time has come and gone and I'm ok. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Grant left at 9:15 this morning to get on a bus to go to MEPS in St. Louis. Then tomorrow he will fly to Ft. Sills, OK. He spent time this morning talking to his sisters, each by themselves. And wouldn't tell me what he said to them. Knowing my son, he gave them strict instructions on how to behave and the consequences upon his return for any bad behavior. (lmao) He didn't have much to say to me, which is ok, as my son and I have a bond that doesn't need words. I chose to write him a letter and stick it in his bag when he wasn't looking! Saying all the things I knew I wouldn't be able to say when he left without tears. And since he can't stand to see his momma cry, i Know he understands. I am so proud of him, and can't wait to see how this experience changes him. Thanks to my sis and all my friends on here for your continued support. One person in particular, and they know who they are!......MUAH!!!! MUCH LOVE!

The time is getting closer. Grant will be leaving on Monday morning to go to St. Louis. He will stay the night there and leave Tuesday for Ft.Sills, OK. I'm so proud of him, but still don't want to see him go. I know he will be fine, and he will succede without a problem. His sisters are more upset than I m, and I wasn't sure that was possible! Just wanted to say thanks to all my friends that have given me their unconditional support and love. Send all your energy and good wishes to Grant. The old saying "It takes a village" comes into play here, as I believe the more ppl that are sending him positive energy and wishes, the more protected he will be
