LIFE is a GIFT :-)

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry him. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying, "Just take care of my eyes dear." This is how the human brain changed when the status changed. Only few remember what life was before, and who's always been there even in the most painful situations. Life Is a Gift. Today before you think of saying an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat. Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion. Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who died too early. Before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren. Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets. Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job. But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one Maker. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around. Life is a gift: live it, enjoy it, celebrate it, and fulfill it.
Is your work inspiring or draining the spirit out of you? Take the quiz. Q1. On my way to work, I: O 1. Walk with a spring in my step. I look forward to it. O 2. Stroll. I like work but I'm in no hurry to get there. O 3. Practically sleepwalk. Another day, another peso/dollar. O 4. Trudge. Agony awaits. Q2. I work late hours: O 1. Too often. Help! O 2. When necessary. Ugh. O 3. All the time. I can't get enough. O 4. Rarely. Life's too short. Q3. My job generally: O 1. Gives me the opportunity to use my whole self -- mind, spirit, and imagination. O 2. Challenges me but leaves little room for creativity. O 3. Wears me out. O 4. Makes me wonder why I was born. Q4. At dinner with friends, I: O 1. Talk about work with pride and enthusiasm. O 2. Share the ups and downs of my workday. O 3. Mostly vent about work. O 4. Who wants to talk about work after hours? Q5. The song title that comes closest to representing my relationship to my coworkers is: O 1. Welcome to the Jungle (Guns N' Roses) O 2. You Can't Always Get What You Want (Rolling Stones) O 3. With a Little Help From My Friends (Beatles) O 4. Good Vibrations (Beach Boys) Q6. My spiritual practice or faith: O 1. Is an uplifting part of my workday routine. O 2. Can be a lifesaver in difficult moments at work, but doesn't help me with the daily grind. O 3. Supports me in my personal life; work is another story. O 4. I never pray, meditate, or even just take a deep breath at work. Q7. In long meetings, I fantasize about: O 1. Taping "kick me" signs on my boss. O 2. Anything but work. O 3. That cool project I want to do. O 4. Actually, I enjoy engaging in meetings. Q8. My job: O 1. Is a perfect match for my soul's desires. O 2. Isn't perfect but gives me room to express myself and grow. O 3. Is nothing special but enables me to do the stuff I really care about. O 4. Is a way to pay the bills. Here's how to interpret your score: 8 - 15 Yikes! Your soul is starving. Drop everything and try to meditate or pray. Then apply these tips to that job search you should be doing... 16 - 23 Mixed results. Your soul is managing, but there's room for improvement. You can try thinking of your current situation as spiritual practice, or try probing deeper to find your true calling. 24 - 32 Congratulations! Your soul is inspired by work. Share with others what you're grateful for.

Ouch!!!

It was fun chasing an illusion.. it gave me a reason to be happy even if it wasn't real... but any chase surely has to end... coz when it did end, I was left with nothing... but a memory of something that never existed.

MAYBE...

Maybe... God wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. Maybe... when the door of happiness closes, another opens; but, oftentimes, we look so long at the closed door that we don't even see the new one which has been opened for us. Maybe... it is true that we don't know what we have got until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it arrives. Maybe... the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. Maybe... the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes, failures and heartaches. Maybe... you should dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you dream of and want to do. Maybe... there are moments in life when you miss someone -- a parent, a spouse, a friend, a child -- so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real. Maybe... the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. We should all have one. Maybe... you should always try to put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other person, too. Maybe... you should do something nice for someone every single day, even if it is simply to leave them alone. Maybe... giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours. Maybe... happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives. Maybe... you shouldn't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. Maybe... you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy.
