(Sports Network) - Veteran right-hander Roy Halladay can keep the fleeting Philadelphia playoff hopes alive today when the surging Phillies host the Atlanta Braves in the middle game of a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park. Brady Jersey . Philadelphia was largely written off in the playoff race for much of the season, but has played well lately to climb over .500 and within three games of the St. Louis Cardinals in pursuit of the final National League wild card berth. Atlanta leads the race for the first of the two slots and is all but guaranteed a postseason trip with a six-game lead over the Cardinals. Halladay, a 35-year-old Denver native, is unbeaten in six starts since Aug. 15, going 4-0 with wins over Cincinnati (twice), Washington and Miami. He faced the Braves once during the streak and got a no-decision in Philadelphias 8-5 win after allowing four runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts. The outing raised Halladays career earned run average against the Braves to 3.38 in 10 outings in which hes 4-3 with three complete games and a shutout. In 11 starts at home in 2012, he is 6-3 with a 3.82 ERA. Atlanta counters with lefty Mike Minor, who can reach double digits in wins for the first time in his third major-league season. The 24-year-old was 3-2 in nine outings with the Braves in 2010, then won five of eight decisions for them last season across 15 starts. He got to nine wins this year in his most recent start, a 5-1 defeat of Washington on Sept. 15 in which he allowed a run on five hits in six innings. Minor has faced the Phillies twice in his last 10 starts, losing a decision on Aug. 7 (3-0) and getting a no-decision in an Atlanta loss (8-5) on Aug. 31. In the two games, he allowed 14 hits and seven runs in 12 innings. On Friday, Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz smacked back-to-back homers and Kyle Kendrick tossed 6 2/3 strong innings to lead the Phillies to a 6-2 win. Kendrick (10-11) allowed just two runs on five hits and struck out six to pick up his sixth win in eight starts. Kevin Frandsen and Chase Utley also added solo shots for the Phillies. Tommy Hanson (12-9) was tagged for five runs on four hits and struck out five over 5 1/3 innings to absorb the loss. Brian McCann and Jose Constanza knocked in one run apiece for the Braves. The Braves won 10 of the first 15 games between the teams in 2012, but the Phillies won two of three when they last played from Aug. 31-Sept. 2 in Atlanta. Philadelphia won 12 of 18 games in 2011. Jermaine Cunningham Jersey . The shortest outing of his career. Lincecum was shelled for six runs in 2 1-3 innings Wednesday night as the Colorado Rockies snapped out of an offensive funk with a wild 17-8 win over San Francisco. Will Allen Jersey .J. -- Jonathan Quick was back in lockdown mode: preparing for Game 5 of the finals as though it were Game 1, and not the Los Angeles Kings second chance to claim the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. http://www.propatriotsstore.com/aaron-hernandez-jersey . Acknowledging "a cloud of suspicion would remain hanging over this dark period," the UCI said the list of Tour winners will remain blank for the years from 1999 to 2005. "This might appear harsh for those who rode clean (but) they would understand there was little honour to be gained in reallocating places," the UCI said after a board meeting in Geneva. Womens Stevan Ridley Jersey . The clubhouse is stocked with players who know what its like to be in first place. Those are relatively new sensations for the on-the-rise Washington Nationals, who received a lesson or two in the Yankees first trip to the nations capital in six years.CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls arent quite finished after all. Theyre still in a dire situation, though. Luol Deng scored 24 points, Carlos Boozer added 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Chicago beat the Philadelphia 76ers 77-69 on Tuesday night to avoid a first-round playoff exit. The top-seeded Bulls finally won without point guard Derrick Rose, building a nine-point halftime lead and staying in control down the stretch to pull within 3-2. Game 6 is Thursday in Philadelphia, and the way Chicago sees it, maybe, just maybe, some of the pressure is now on the 76ers. "Definitely," Deng said. "Were in a situation where we know if we lose we go home. After tonights game, theyre going to feel a little pressure and try to close it out." Its been a brutal series for the Bulls. Rose tore the ACL in his left knee late in the opening win, casting a huge cloud over a team that came in eyeing another big run after reaching the conference finals a year ago, and things only got worse from there. In Game 2, there was a second-half collapse at home. In Game 3, there was centre Joakim Noah spraining his left ankle, and in Game 4, the Bulls came up short again. With Rose out for the rest of the season and Noah sitting out his second straight game, Chicago came in looking like a team that was ready to bow out. Instead, the Bulls locked down the Sixers, holding them to season lows for points and shooting ( 32.1 per cent). And with Boozer and Deng coming up big, Chicago kept its season going. "You cant let one game all of a sudden get you spinning in the wrong direction," Sixers coach Doug Collins said. "We didnt expect to beat the Bulls four straight. This is a damn good team." Deng played more like an All-Star after averaging just eight points in the previous three games, hitting 4 of 5 3-point attempts -- three in the fourth quarter. He also grabbed eight rebounds. Boozer tied a career-playoff high with six assists, and the Bulls came out on top just when their season appeared to be unraveling. They still have no room for error. A loss Thursday would make them the fifth No. 1 seed to lose to a No. 8 seed in the first round and the second in as many years, after San Antonio fell to Memphis last season. But if they continue to play like this, the Bulls just might have a shot. "Theyre going to treat the game in Philly like its Game 7," Chicagos Richard Hamilton said. "They dont want to come back here. Weve got to figure out a way to do the same thing we did tonight, and hopefully, well get the win." JJrue Holiday scored 16 points for Philadelphia but hit just 5 of 17 shots. Black Brady Jersey. Lou Williams scored 13 points and Andre Iguodala and Spencer Hawes both finished with 11 as the Sixers remained one win from their first series victory since 2003. Hawes grabbed 14 rebounds, but it was a rough night for him after scoring 21 and 22 the previous two games. He wound up with a nasty scratch running from the side of his left eye to below the lip after going up for a shot during the fourth quarter. Even Holiday said, "Wow, whats that?" as Hawes walked by on his way out of the locker room. "Its a physical series," Hawes said. "If thats how its going to go, we can play that brand of basketball." There was some tension late in the second quarter after Boozer missed a jumper. Taj Gibson and Elton Brand wound up on the court near the Bulls bench in a scramble for the loose ball, and they kept going at it as players from both sides joined the scrum. Ronnie Brewer and Evan Turner appeared to exchange some heated words, but Gibson and Brand wound up getting technical fouls with 2:25 left. "Got an elbow in the face," Brand said. "Cant allow that. But after the play was over, its over." The Bulls were on a 10-2 run to close the half that gave them a 35-26 lead. They were up 57-48 going into the fourth quarter after another injury scare late in the third. This time, Gibson came up clutching his right ankle and hit the court after fouling Lavoy Allen underneath with just over 2 minutes left in the quarter. He came back early in the fourth to loud cheers, and the crowd was really roaring when Deng nailed a 3 to make it 67-52, giving the Bulls their biggest lead. They had more to cheer when Gibson hit a jumper, pumping his fist, and two free throws to get the lead 71-58. And they were really screaming moments later when Brewer blocked Brand on a putback. Question is: Will they be seeing the Bulls again this season? "We feel like we can go to Philadelphia and get one great road win," Boozer said. Notes: Gibson vowed to be ready for Game 6, saying, "Ill be fine. Knowing myself, Im going to play. Im not going to sit out." ... Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau again said a timetable for Roses surgery has not been set. "Theyre still talking things over," he said. ... Fans gave Rose a loud ovation and he responded with a wave when he was shown seated in a suite during a second-quarter timeout. ... Brand had five points for Philadelphia, and Turner scored four. Toronto – Toronto Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson has announced the signing of forward Stephan Leblanc to a one-year contract. Justin Blalock Jersey . Leblanc was the NLLs rookie of the year in 2010 and returns for his fourth season in a Rock uniform. "Stephan is the prototypical power forward in this league," said Sanderson. "He made an immediate impact when he entered the league, but I think he has teased us a bit over his first few seasons with just how good he is going to be."  The 26-year old left-handed forward has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in his brief NLL career. He has already played in two NLL championship games winning the title in 2011 and scoring the game-winning goal as Toronto defeated Washington 8-7 to claim their sixth NLL championship in franchise history. "His play gave us the confidence to put him in important situations from day one," explained Sanderson. "With a championship already under his belt, he brings the experience and the winning pedigree with him that we really value within our organization." In just three seasons and 47 games played, Leblanc has scored 97 goals and added 126 assists for 223 points in his young career. He led the team in regular season scoring in their championship season of 2011 with 76 points. Hes proven himself as a playoff performer as well, leading the team in playoff scoring in 2010 as the Rock advanced to the NLL championship game. Leblanc was selected by the Rock in the first round, 11th overall in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft. Leblanc is an Ontario native but finished out his Junior A playing career in British Columbia playing alongside current Rock teammate Garrett Billings with the Burnaby Lakers. In 2007, his final year of Junior A, he scored 74 points for the Lakers which placed him third overall in BCLA Junior A scoring. The Rock have also signed defenceman Peter Rennie to a one-year agreement. The selection was made by a committee comprised of members of Football Reporters of Canada (FRC). Cecile, a second-year recreation and leisure student from Azilda, Ont., was honoured on offence after he had the best game of his young university career in the Warriors regular season finale, a 48-29 home win over Windsor, last Saturday. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound sophomore, who entered the game with 10 receptions for 135 yards and one touchdown on the season, exploded for eight catches, 246 yards and three majors against the Lancers, including four grabs of over 30 yards. Cecile hauled in a 17-yard TD pass from Jamie Cook in the second quarter and combined his efforts with Ben Hall for 60 and 13-yard scoring plays in the third frame. Acadia receiver James Fioroni, Montreal quarterback Alexandre Nadeau-Piuze and UBC pivot Billy Greene were also up for the award. Mahler, a second-year recreation and business student from Sault St. Marie, Ont., took home the weekly honour on defence after he closed out his 2012 campaign with three interceptions in the win over Windsor, upping his season total to a CIS-best seven. The 5-ffoot-11, 175-pound sophomore saved a potential Windsor score in the first quarter when he stepped in front of an Austin Kennedy pass at the Warriors 10-yard line, and then added picks in the second and third stanzas, both of which led directly to Waterloo touchdowns. Michael Turner Womens Jersey. . Mahler returned his three interceptions on a total of 98 yards and also contributed a pair of solo tackles in the victory. Mount Allison linebacker Justin Richard, Montreal linebacker Byron Archambault and Regina defensive back Joey Dwyer were also nominated. Bouthillier, a first-year multidisciplinary student from Granby, Que., was the choice on special teams thanks to a spectacular performance that saw him score touchdowns on two long returns in a 48-21 home win over Concordia, on Saturday. Back in the Vert & Or lineup after missing four games due to an injury, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound freshman made an immediate impact as he returned the opening kickoff on 110 yards after only 18 seconds of action to register the longest scoring play in the country this season, and the second longest kickoff return in RSEQ history. The speedster added a 64-yard major off a punt return in the second quarter and finished the contest with a whopping 291 return yards on only seven touches. Mount Allison returner Donovan Saunders, Ottawa kicker Matthew Falvo and Regina return man Jamir Walker were also up for the distinction.  ' ' '

ST. Johnathan Joseph Jersey . CATHARINES, Ont. -- Canadas Team SpiderTech is postponing racing activities for the 2013 cycling season to focus on acquiring additional corporate sponsorship for the future. The team has been competing at the pro continental level since 2011. "Were stepping away from continental competition in order to focus our efforts on gaining UCI WorldTour status," said Steve Bauer, the squads co-founder and owner of Cycle Sport Management Inc. "We have made the decision to focus our efforts entirely on making the jump to the WorldTour in 2014 and have determined that we need to acquire additional financial partnerships to reach this goal." Entry into the UCI WorldTour would elevate the teams status and provide access to compete in premier cycling races like the Tour de France. In a release issued Friday, Cycle Sport Management Inc., said it has made headway with several potential Canadian corporate sponsors but more time is required to secure partnerships and solidify future financial commitments. The injury is expected to limit Tebow in practice Wednesday and possibly the rest of this week. He was injured at Seattle on Nov. 11, played three offensive snaps the following week at St. Louis and then was active but Ryan kept him on the sideline -- to be used only in "an emergency" -- last Thursday night against New England. PHOENIX -- Wade Miley worked himself into a jam with a rare walk and a pitch that nearly got sent over the wall. Wholesale Nike Jerseys . Instead of pulling Miley, Arizona manager Kirk Gibson left him out there, wary of using his thin bullpen but also confident that his rookie left-hander could wriggle out of it. Turned out to be a great decision. Miley stranded runners at second and third in the eighth inning and outpitched Matt Garza, helping the Arizona Diamondbacks complete a three-game sweep with a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Miley (9-3) retired 20 of the first 21 batters he faced before giving up a homer to Alfonso Soriano in the seventh inning, then was in trouble in the eighth after his second walk in 149 hitters and a double by Darwin Barney. Miley worked his way out of it by striking out Joe Mather, getting pinch-hitter Luis Valbuena on a line out to shortstop and David DeJesus on a comebacker. "It was his game," Gibson said. "He earned the right a long time ago, but he didnt have a choice. We were down to four guys (in the bullpen) and we felt he was the best guy still at that time." Jason Kubel hit a solo homer off Garza (2-6) and Justin Upton had three RBIs, breaking a tight game open with a two-run single through the left side off Manny Corpas in the eighth inning. Aaron Hill also drove in a run to extend his home hitting streak to 16 games and closer J.J. Putz worked out of a little jam in the ninth to finish off Arizonas first sweep of the Cubs in a three-game series since 2001. After struggling the first two months of the season, Arizona has crept back up the NL West standings. The Diamondbacks have gotten good starting pitching, broken out of their offensive funk and have won 10 of 11 home games, 12 of 17 overall, including four straight. "Weve got a lot of confidence right now," Miley said. The Cubs certainly dont. Chicago had four hits against Arizona on Sunday and went 3 for 25 with runners in scoring position with 26 stranded runners in the three games against the Diamondbacks. The Cubs have lost four straight and eight of 11, dropping their record to a baseball-worst 24-48. "When we are winning I am tired, but when we are losing and get swept it is mental," Soriano said. "Losing like we are losing now is tough. The way we are losing is not acceptable." The Diamondbacks had been on an offensive tear, scoring 46 runs the previous five games, their most in the same span since 2000. They rolled over the Cubs the series first two games, including 10-5 on Saturday for their fifth straight game with at least 10 hits. They couldnt keep it going against Garza, but didnt need to the way Miley had the Cubs flailing. A nice surprise for the Diamondbacks this season, he has made a case to represent Arizona at the All-Star game and as a candidate for rookie of the year. Miley entered Sundays game as the rookie leader in wins and ERA (2.30), and had allowed three earned runs in 22 2-3 innings his previous three starts. The left-hander was good against the Cubs, too, retiring 14 straight batters before Soriano lifted a homer just over the wall in left-centre in the seventh that cut Arizonas lead to 2-1. After working himself out of the jam in the eighth inning, Miley walked to lead off the bottom half and scored, along with Hill, when Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro couldnt come up with Uptons hard grounder that put the Diamondbacks up 5-1. He didnt come out for the ninth inning after throwing 116 pitches. "We needed a start like that, one run in eight innings," Gibson said. Garza was nearly as good. The hard-throwing right-hander gave up a run in the first inning when he walked leadoff hitter Gerardo Parra and Upton knocked him in with a flare single to left-centre. Garza had the Diamondbacks off-balance over the next four innings, retiring 15 straight batters before Parra hit a two-out triple in the sixth inning. Hill drove him in with an infield single that third baseman Mather had trouble handling just over the base. Garzas one big mistake came in the seventh inning, when he left an 0-2 pitch up and Kubel hit it out to the pool in right-centre -- the 43rd all-time to get wet -- for a solo homer that put the Diamondbacks up 3-1. Garza allowed three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings. "He was outstanding, too," Cubs manager Dave Sveum said. "Besides a hanging slider, walking the leadoff hitter of the game, other than that, he was really good; about as good as he has been in a long time." Problem for the Cubs was that Miley was just a little better. NOTES: Trevor Bauer, Arizonas top pitching prospect, could be called up and make his major league debut in place of injured lefty Joe Saunders after being pulled from a minor league start on Sunday. ... Chicago is 3-16 against left-handed starters this season. ... Cubs LHP Travis Wood, the starter Monday against the New York Mets, has allowed three earned runs or less in six of his first seven big league starts. ... Arizona RHP Daniel Hudson, wholl start Tuesday against Atlanta, is 2-0 with a 7.01 ERA in five starts since returning from the DL. At this point, though, the Broncos cornerback knows its his health, not his opinion, that counts. But if they say I can play, Ill be ready to play." Coach John Fox said Porters status was "day-to-day." "Its nothing to mess around with, but Im not going to deny him the right to play if hes healthy enough to play," Fox said. Tony Carter and Chris Harris are the backups and both were listed as such on lineup cards printed by the team for Sundays game. Playing in place off Porter in the San Diego game, Carter returned a fumble for a touchdown and Harris took an interception for a score in a 35-24 win. Wholesale NHL Jerseys. The Saints, with Drew Brees leading the leagues top-ranked passing offence, figure to be as tough a challenge as the Denver secondary will face all season. "We know theres going to be a lot of balls in the air, but when they do catch it, we have to make the tackle and line up for the next play," Harris said. For his part, Porter said hed like to be the man covering the receivers and making those tackles. The fifth-year veteran, who signed with Denver as a free agent before this season, was one of the stars for the Saints three years ago in the Super Bowl, when he picked off Peyton Mannings pass and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown while Manning was trying to guide the Colts to a tying touchdown. This would be Porters first game against his ex-teammates. He said the medical issues have not hindered him physically, even though he has not been cleared to practice. "Ive been preparing all week as if Im playing -- watching film, studying these guys," Porter said. "The only thing is, I wasnt physically out there at practice. Mentally, Im ready to play, but if they say Im not ready, then Ill just have to wait." ' ' '

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that Dallas Eakins has signed a three-year contract extension to remain head coach of the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. Aaron Rodgers Pink Jersey . Eakins assistant coaches Gord Dineen and Derek King have also signed contract extensions to continue with the Marlies. Both are completing their third season with the Marlies in 2011-12. The extension allows Eakins the flexibility to seek an NHL head coaching job after next season. "Dallas is a wonderful teacher for our players in the American Hockey League," said Leafs GM Brian Burke in a statement. "He has a great understanding of the game and what it takes to be a successful professional player, both on and off the ice. Hes a huge contributor to our overall hockey organization and we are pleased to have Dallas and the entire coaching staff under contract." The Marlies captured the Sam Pollock Trophy as the winner of the AHLs North Division in 2011-12. Under Eakins guidance, the team has ranked first in the AHL in penalty-killing in 2010-11 and 2011-12. Toronto surrendered a league-low 175 goals in 2011-12 and finished with a record of 44-25-5-3 and 96 points which is the 2nd best total in team history. As the second playoff seed in the AHLs Western Conference, the Marlies this spring eliminated Rochester, Abbotsford and first place Oklahoma City on their path to the 2012 Calder Cup Final. Eakins has spent the last seven seasons in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization in various roles. He was the clubs Director of Player Development in 2008-09, served as an assistant coach with the Maple Leafs from 2006 to 2008, and was an assistant coach with the Marlies during the 2005-06 AHL season. The Dade City, Florida native was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 10th round, 208th overall, in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Eakins played in 120 games for Winnipeg, Florida, St. Louis, Phoenix, the New York Rangers, Toronto, the New York Islanders and Calgary. He also suited up in 609 AHL games, registering 134 points (27 goals, 107 assists) and 1051 penalty minutes. BOSTON -- All the off-season work, rehab starts and minor league outings finally paid off for Daisuke Matsuzaka. Matsuzaka returned from the disabled list with his best start of the season and Cody Ross drove in three runs, leading the Boston Red Sox to a 5-1 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday. Starting the season on the DL after Tommy John surgery in June, Matsuzaka (1-3) earned his first big league win since May 16 of last season. The Japanese right-hander made eight rehab starts before he rejoined the rotation in June, but went back on the DL in early July with a strained neck muscle. Then it was back to the minors for another five starts. "I tried back in June and I didnt get the results I wanted. I didnt feel like Id be able to come back strong again this season," he said through a translator. "I went back to my final two rehab starts and threw the ball really well. I knew if I could do that up here the results would come." Matsuzaka gave up an unearned run and five hits, walking two and striking out six over seven innings in just his sixth start of the season. The Red Sox took three of four in the wraparound series and won for the second time in three games since trading Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford to the Dodgers on Saturday in a salary-dumping, nine-player deal. "Obviously hes going to get another start -- two, three, four or five," Boston manager Bobby Valentine said. "He might finish strong throwing like that." Jacoby Ellsbury had a solo homer and a double for Boston, which opens a nine-game West Coast trip Tuesday night against the Los Angles Angels. It was the first time Matsuzakas pitched more than six innings. "When I had to go back on the DL in July it was very disappointing, especially when I didnt expect my body to react the way it did," he said. "But the encouraging part was it wasnt my elbow. I didnt know if Id be able to come back strong this year, but I felt better than I did before I had Tommy John." The Red Sox won for just the seventh time in 19 games. "He threw his slurvy slider inside on right-handers really well," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "I mean he really executed that pitch well a number of times. So when youre sitting, looking out, away on him and he throws that slider that starts at you and breaks back on the corner of the plate, it keeps you off-balance really well, and thats what he did." Luke Hochevar (7-12) took the loss, giving up five runs and eight hits in his second complete gamee this season. Jordy Nelson Pink Jersey. Boston broke a 1-1 tie on Ross two-run single in the third. Scott Podsednik and Dustin Pedroia each singled before Ross hit a drive high off the Green Monster, but he was thrown out trying to stretch it on Alex Gordons throw. In the sixth, the Red Sox added two runs off Hochevar. Ross had an RBI double off the left-field wall. He beat Gordons throw, sliding into second before scoring when newly acquired James Loney singled to make it 5-1. Loney went 1 for 4 in his second game after coming in the trade with Los Angeles. Matsuzaka, in the final year of a six-year, $52 million contract, mostly spotted his fastball with a slider and cutter to keep the Royals hitters off balance. He was most impressive when he worked out of a first-and-third, one-out jam in the sixth, getting Mike Moustakas swinging on a tailing 94 mph fastball to end the inning. "He was throwing a good cutter," Kansas City designated hitter Billy Butler said. "He was locating and had pretty good velocity on his fastball whenever he needed it." The Royals took advantage of an error, scoring a run without a hit to take a 1-0 lead in the first. Jarrod Dyson opened the game with a walk, stole second and advanced when second baseman Pedroia was charged with an error when he didnt catch a somewhat high throw. Gordon followed with a sacrifice fly. Ellsburys homer in the bottom half, a drive that bounced on the top of a short right-field wall and into the stands, tied it 1-all. NOTES: Valentine said he expects to see reliever Alfredo Aceves with the team on the West Coast trip Tuesday. He was suspended on Saturday for three games for conduct detrimental to the team. "I guess its just being responsible for your actions and understanding that all actions have consequence," Valentine said before Mondays game. "Its just a simple rule. I dont have a lot of rules, but one of the rules I stated early on was you dont do anything to embarrass yourself, your teammates or your organization. Thats a rule." ... Gordon went 2 for 3, getting two hits in all four games. ... WESTWEGO, La. Nike NFL Jerseys . -- Terrence Jones likes the idea of playing in New Orleans with Kentucky teammate and consensus top overall NBA draft choice Anthony Davis. Theres a chance that could happen. Jones was one of nine prospects the Hornets invited to their suburban training centre on Monday for the first pre-draft workouts since they learned in the NB would be picking first and 10th overall. "I already have a relationship with him, being teammates and winning a national championship together," Jones said of Davis. "It would just be a great thing to continue on our next careers together." The 6-foot-9 Jones worked out with four other fount court players: 7-foot Tyler Zeller and 6-11 John Henson of North Carolina, along with Illinois 7-1 centre Meyers Leonard and Mississippi State 6-11 forward Arnett Moultrie. The guards working out for coach Monty Williams and general manager Dell Demps were Dukes Austin Rivers, Connecticuts Jeremy Lamb, Washingtons Terrence Ross and Marylands Terrell Stoglin. Demps said there are probably fewer than 10 other players he wants to see in person, and that the club probably will schedule more workouts in about two weeks, after next weeks NBA draft combine and another similar event for European players. Williams has coveted an abundance of length in the front court ever since seeing how the Los Angeles Lakers combination of Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum frustrated the Hornets in the 2011 playoffs. New Orleans has 6-10 Emeka Okafor, 7-foot Jason Smith and 6-10 Gustavo Ayon under contract for next season. Davis is 6-11, and the Hornets could easily envision adding another big player. "Its a real possibility," Williams said. "Thats why we brought those guys in, because theres so many bigs that can go in the top 10, so weve got to take a look at all of them." The big men in this draft might be better off as the only first-round choice of another team, rather than playing in Davis shadow. Yet those who worked out for New Orleans seemed confident in the vision the Hornets had for them. Moultrie said the Hornets told him they were looking for "the best available" player at pick No. 10. "If I fall in their lap, I feel like Im the best available," Moultrie said. "I wouldnt mind playing with Anthony Davis. We have two different games and I think we complement each other very well." Even with Davis impending arrival, Williams said the Hornets still consider restricted free agent shooting guard Eric Gordon their best player -- and the player around which they intend to build. Gordon was among the spectators at Mondays workout, at times sitting and talking with Demps as well as Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Loomis is expected to serve in an advisory role to Saints owner Tom Benson, who has agreed to buy the Hornets, on major matters concerning the NBA club. Demps cannot talk about a new contract with Gordon until July, but both Demps and Williams appreciated that Gordon was showing an interest in the Hornets future. "He has always intimated to me that this is the place where he wants to be," Willaims said. "We talked this weekend and he said he wanted to come down here and work out and see the guys and see the coaches. Thats who he has been since he has been here." Still, the Hornets are interested in adding more depth at guard with the 10th pick. For now, the Hornets have point guards Jarrett Jack and Greivis Vasquez, as well as reserve shooting guard Xavier Henry, under contract for next season. Rivers, the son of Celtics coach Doc Rivers, has known Williams since he was a small child. "I love Monty, and not just because Ive known him my whole life," Rivers said. "Hes the guy that it doesnt matter who you are or what your relationship is, when you step in those lines, hes going to coach you like anybody else. ... I think hes a great coach." Rivers said the Hornets pre-draft workout was his first, and that there were other teams that might be a good fit for him, but added, "Im here for a reason, because I feel like I fit with this team well." And unlike a year ago, when the clubs ownership future was uncertain and Chris Paul and Davis West were on their way out of town, the Hornets are brimming with optimism again. "I like this team. I like this area and I think its on the rise," Rivers said. "I really feel like its going in a positive direction. They have two top-10 picks in a really stocked draft." Wholesale Jerseys . WASHINGTON -- The International Monetary Fund said Tuesday US financial institutions could suffer $2.7 trillion in losses from the global credit crisis, part of a worldwide total expected to top $4 trillion. The $2.7 trillion estimate for the United States was nearly double the IMFs projection from just six months ago. The agency for the first time estimated losses for other regions of the world, saying the global total could surpass $4 trillion. International Monetary Funds Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department Jose Vinals speaks during the news conference on the Global Financial Stability Report at the IMF Headquarters in Washington, April 21 2009. [Agencies] The IMF also warned that governments must take decisive policy actions to contain the fallout. The agency said governments have made progress getting extra money into the banking system, but more needs to be done to deal with toxic assets on banks books and shutting down insolvent financial institutions. Additional capital is needed to cushion balance sheets against further loan losses and to restore investor confidence, the IMF said. The Obama administration has said its considering converting some of the $200 billion in loans to banks into purchases of common stock as a way to bolster their capital reserves. Related readings:  IMF says losses from credit crisis may hit $4.1 tr  Central banker: IMF needs improvement  G20 to give $1 trillion to IMF, World Bank The financial system remained under severe stress as the economic crisis broadens from the banking sector to consumers and businesses, the IMF said in its Global Financial Stability Report. Further determined policy action will be required to help restore confidence and to relieve the financial markets of uncertainties that are undermining the prospects for an economic recovery, the IMF said. The stability report and an updated economic outlook due out Wednesday will form the basis for meetings slated to begin with talks among the Group of Seven rich industrial nations and the Group of 20 major industrial and developing economies on Friday. Discussions among the nations that serve on the steering committees of the IMF and World Bank are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Those talks will seek to flesh out the commitments made at a G-20 leaders summit in London last month. At that meeting, President Barack Obama and the other leaders pledged to boost financial support for the IMF and other international lending institutions by $1.1 trillion. Emerging economic powers like China and Brazil are demanding a bigger voice in how the IMF and World Bank are run in return for their increased support. Besides debaates over rearranging the governing structure of the lending institutions, the weekend talks are expected to focus on reforms that should be made in how the IMF, the worlds global policeman, performs its duties. Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys China. The 185-nation lending institution came under severe criticism a decade ago, during the 1997-98 Asian currency crisis, for the types of stringent reforms it imposed on countries seeking IMF loans. IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn has sought to revamp the agencys lending programs to make them more flexible. The IMF has created a new line of credit its willing to extend to countries with solid economic track records without the tough restrictions of normal IMF loan programs. So far, Mexico has been offered $47 billion and Poland $20.5 billion under the new program. The agency already has shown greater flexibility in the loans it has extended for countries caught up in the current crisis, including those made to the formerly communist Eastern European countries of Hungary, Latvia, Ukraine, Serbia and Romania. Some economists worry that without stringent IMF programs, countries will not make the tough choices needed to trigger an economic rebound. But most believe the new flexibility is a welcome change from past approaches. There was a general feeling after the Asian crisis that some of the loan conditionality had been too intrusive, said Michael Mussa, a former chief economist at the IMF. The old IMF was too harsh. Some of the conditions they imposed in the past did not take into account practical realities, said Sung Won Sohn, an economist at the Smith School of Business at California State University. At the same time, some member nations are pushing to give the IMF greater powers as a global economic watchdog. They argue that if the agency had played a greater monitoring role, some of the financial market excesses that led to the current crisis could have been avoided. However, any move to increase the IMFs oversight is likely to meet stiff resistance among countries like China where officials have objected to IMF lectures on its undervalued currency. The financial stability report said the estimate of $2.7 trillion in losses in the US included $1.07 trillion in loan losses and $1.6 trillion in losses on securities backed by mortgages, consumer and business debt. The losses for the 16 nations using the euro currency and Britain were estimated at $1.2 trillion. The losses in Japan were put at $149 billion. The IMF said banks worldwide have raised about $900 billion in new capital since the crisis began, with about half of that coming from public sources. In the US, the government has spent $200 billion from a $700 billion bailout fund to inject fresh capital into more than 500 banks. ' ' '

PORTLAND, Ore. Roddy White Womens Jersey . - LaMarcus Aldridge will keep the words he had with Minnesotas Kevin Love to himself. The two All-Stars jawed at times on Sunday night, when both scored 26 points but Aldridges Trail Blazers came out on top, 119-106. "It was just two guys going hard," the diplomatic Aldridge said. Love also had nine rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have dropped eight of their last 10 games. He also brushed off the back-and-forth with Aldridge, explaining it was probably something the Blazers star did to "get his team going, get the fans into it." Nicolas Batum added 24 points for the Blazers, who like the Timberwolves are fighting to stay in the playoff picture. Portland continues to adjusting to the dismissal of coach Nate McMillan and the trade of starters Marcus Camby and Gerald Wallace at the deadline. Portland is now 5-5 under interim head coach Caleb Canales, who has been juggling with his roster. On Sunday, the Blazers started J.J. Hickson, who was picked up on March 21 after he was waived by Sacramento. "We played a good game, played sound defence, we controlled the rebounds," Batum said. "And we controlled Kevin Love." The Timberwolves used nine players as they battle injuries, including the loss of rookie Ricky Rubio for the season. Minnesota guard J.J. Barea was out for the fifth straight game with a bruised right quadriceps and forward Michael Beasley missed his third game with a sprained big toe on his left foot. Centre Nikola Pekovic, who has missed six games with bone spurs in his right ankle, was with the team on it short two-game road trip to Portland and Sacramento, but coach Rick Adelman said before the game that he would not play. "Losing Ricky was obviously the toughest thing for us. We were able to grind out games and get wins, but then Pek went down, J.J. continued to be hurt and Michael just added firepower," Love said. "All four of those guys added something special to this team. When we were rolling we had everyone together." Aldridge, who had eight rebounds, was back with the Blazers after missing Friday nights loss to the Clippers with a sore left elbow. "I just blocked it out," he said. "When Im out there Im going to play." The game was tied at 27 at the end of the first quarter, but when Love rested early in the second, Portland took a 37-31 lead on Jamal Crawfords pull-up jumper. Portland stretched the lead to 49-42 on another Crawford jumper and the Blazers led 57-50 at the half. Batums 3-pointer and free throw gave the Blazers a 79-68 lead with 4:13 left. Batum blocked Luke Ridnour on the other end to pave the way for Aldridges fast-break dunk, giving Portland its biggest lead of the game to that point. Ridnour made a 3 to narrow it to 86-82 for the Timberwolves late in the third quarter, but Luke Babbitt made a layup at the buzzer. Crawfords long jumper put the Blazers up 105-89 midway through the final quarter. Ridnour and Derrick Williams each finished with 21 points for the Timberwolves. Hickson finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Raymond Felton had 10 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds for the Blazers. Portland was without centre Joel Przybilla, who has a right knee sprain, an absence that paved the way for Hickson to start. It isnt clear if the injury will keep Przybilla out of Monday nights game against the Utah Jazz. In the Timberwolves previous visit to the Rose Garden on March 3, Love finished with 42 points, one shy of his career high, and Minnesota won 122-110. Love grew up just south of Portland in Lake Oswego. He was half of a spectacular prep class in the state of Oregon with Kyle Singler of Medford. Love went on to play at UCLA while Singler played at Duke. Loves performance in March was helping preserve the Timberwolves playoff aspirations. He averaged a league-best 30.7 points, 13.9 rebounds and shot 48 per cent from 3-point range. But Love cant carry the Timberwolves alone. "Weve got to win almost every game now," he said. "So its still there for us, but we need a tremendous amount of luck on our side as well." NOTES: Before the game the Blazers honoured longtime broadcaster and Portland native Steve "Snapper" Jones. "Im just here feeling the love," said Jones, 70. ... Both teams were also coming off losses. The Timberwolves fell 100-79 at home to the Celtics on Friday, while Portland lost 98-97 to the Clippers in Los Angeles the same night. ... Pinch-hitter Jed Lowrie delivered a two-run double in the eighth inning and the lowly Houston Astros stung Philadelphia, rallying for a 6-4 victory Thursday night that ended the Phillies seven-game winning streak. That run had pushed the Phillies within three games of St. Louis for the second NL wild-card spot. "The percentages in baseball, sooner or later you are going to get beat," Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel said. "At the same time, I didnt mean for it to happen tonight. We had a chance to win the game, it was sitting right in front of us. The bottom line is that we didnt add on runs, but we didnt execute either." Philadelphia couldnt hold an early 4-0 lead. Lowries two-out hit put the Astros ahead 5-4. "We had opportunities and Lowrie got a big hit for him," Philadelphias Ryan Howard said. Matt Dominguez hit a three-run homer for Houston, which has the worst record in the majors. Philadelphias bullpen had pitched four scoreless innings after an early exit by starter Tyler Cloyd before running into trouble in the eighth. Phillippe Aumont (0-1) took over in the eighth with a 4-3 lead and walked Jason Castro with one out. Pinch-runner Jordan Schafer was caught stealing on a strong throw by catcher Erik Kratz from his knees. But Aumont walked Dominguez and plunked pinch-hitter Scott Moore on the foot. Aumont pitched in both games of a doubleheader on Sunday and in each of the last three games. "That is a lot of pitching for him, and I did feel like he was out of gas," Manuel said. "The more he stayed out there, you could see that he didnt have the stuff he had yesterday." Jake Diekman, the fifth Phillies reliever of the game, gave up Lowries hit that stopped a string of 21 consecutive scoreless innings pitched by Philadelphias bullpen. Brandon Barnes pushed the lead to 6-4 with an RBI single. Wesley Wright (1-2) got the last two outs of the eighth for the win. Wilton Lopez allowed a hit in a scoreless ninth for his fifth save. For the Astros, it was a bright spot in this mostly dreadful season. "Theres a lot of satisfaction in that," Wright said of beating a team in post-season contention. "They come with a lot on the line and we have a chance to kind of derail that and fiinish the season on a positive note. Matt Ryan Authentic Jersey. So its a good victory all the way around." Kratz broke an 0-for-16 skid with an RBI double to give Philadelphia a 1-0 lead in the second. The Phillies scored three times in the third. Juan Pierre and Chase Utley hit consecutive one-out singles and Howard had a sacrifice fly. John Mayberry Jr. and Kevin Frandsen added RBI singles. Justin Maxwell and Castro hit consecutive singles in the fourth before Dominguezs shot. The drive broke an 0-for-13 streak for Dominguez and was his third three-run homer in the last seven games. Houston starter Lucas Harrell allowed seven hits and four runs in 5 2-3 innings to remain winless since Aug. 14. Pinch-hitter Pete Orr singled with two outs in the sixth and Harrell issued consecutive walks to load the bases. Harrell was lifted after the second walk, and jawed at plate umpire Bill Miller on his way to the dugout and was ejected. "The competitiveness of wanting to win kind of got a hold of me today and I let my emotions run a little bit," Harrell said, adding that he thought he pitched "horrible." He was replaced by Xavier Cedeno, who retired Utley to end the threat. Cloyd yielded five hits and three runs in three-plus innings. Cloyd retired his first six batters before Jimmy Paredes singled to start the third. Jose Altuve hit a two-out single and Cloyd hit Fernando Martinez with a pitch to load the bases before getting Brett Wallace on a grounder. It was the second tough start for Cloyd, who had his contract purchased from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Aug. 29. He allowed eight hits and four runs in four innings of his last start, but received a no-decision. NOTES: Frandsen was back in the lineup after missing seven starts with a sore left ankle. ... Houstons Bud Norris was scratched from Fridays start because of a blister on the index finger of his pitching hand. The Astros have a six-man rotation, so each pitcher will simply be moved up a game. RHP Edgar Gonzalez will start on Friday against Philadelphia LHP Cole Hamels. ... Astros reliever Mickey Storey was OK a day after being hit on the side of the face by a line drive which glanced off his hand and shoulder before striking him in the face. He said before the game that hes a bit sore but feels lucky that the injury wasnt worse. ' ' '
