"Many soldiers have semen frozen and held at a sperm bank before deployment, not because they fear they will be killed but because of the risk they would be injured or exposed to chemicals during deployment which could affect their fertility."

"However, the widows of soldiers who choose to use the sperm to produce children after the soldier's death can be counted on the fingers of one hand, the US department of Veterans' Affairs said. A spokesman said the department knew of only four such cases."

"A medical professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Washington agreed women who seek to have their late husband's baby are a rarity, and expressed doubt as to whether it was a good idea."

make up my mind.. is this kinda creepy or is it understandable? i mean, do they plan to never be with another person? to never remarry? i know that they can still remarry after doing this but would you want to get with a chick that got pregnany by her late husband...say...2 yrs after he died?
