The Kiss

The Kiss Four strangers traveled together in the same compartment of a European train. Two men and two women faced each other. One woman was a very wealthy and sophisticated 75 year old lady who was decked out in the finest of furs and jewelry. Next to her sat a beautiful young woman, nineteen years old--who looked like something right off the cover of a fashion magazine. Across from the older lady was a man in his late-forties who was a highly decorated Sergeant Major in the Army. And next to the Sergeant Major sat a young private fresh out of boot camp. As these four strangers traveled, they talked and chatted about trivial things until they entered an unlighted tunnel, and there they sat in complete darkness and total silence, until the sound of a distinct kiss broke the silence; following the kiss a loud slap could be heard throughout the cabin. In the ensuing period of silence the four strangers sat quietly with their own thoughts. The older lady was thinking, "Isn't it wonderful that even in this permissive day and age there are still young women who have a little self-respect and dignity?" The young woman, shaking her head and greatly puzzled, asked herself, "Why in the world would any man in his right mind want to kiss an old fossil like that when I'm sitting here?" The Sergeant Major, rubbing his sore face, was outraged that any woman could ever think that a man in his position would try to sneak a kiss in the dark. And the private, grinning from ear to ear, was thinking, "What a crazy and mixed up world this is when a private can kiss the back of his hand and then smack a Sergeant Major in the face and get away with it!"

Sacrifice

Sacrifice The sacrifice of love we give, Takes less and yet gives more; An everlasting hand of love, The heart an open door. The willingness to give of self; To lay down your own life; To touch another persons heart, In loving sacrifice. The chance that God has given you, To reach another soul; Forever changed by kindness, A life your love made whole. For life is but a circle, Each life part of the chain; Each link is joined by sacrifice, That causes man to change. To turn and reach a hand of love, To touch another's life; Will cause the circle to be whole, In loving sacrifice.

Be Yourself

Be strong enough to face the world each day. Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything. * Be generous to those who need your help. Be frugal with what you need yourself. * Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything. Be foolish enough to believe in miracles. * Be willing to share your joys. Be willing to share the sorrows of others. * Be a leader when you see a path others have missed. Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty. * Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds. Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails. * Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not stumble. Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way. * Be loving to those who love you. Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change. Above all, be yourself!

On a night breeze

I wish I could say that I wrote this poem because it truly is beautiful but I can't.I hope you like it! On a Night Breeze Softly whispered words of love Float gently on a night breeze 'Cross the many distant miles Over meadows, streams and trees. Floating 'cross the open land 'Neath night skies crystal clear Searching for your listening heart For you alone to hear. Soft and warm goodnight kisses Blown gently into the night Float languidly through starlit skies Until at last they light. They swirl about your slumbering head They caress your sleeping face Sent to you in sweet dreams Gentle kisses 'cross time and space. Night skies filled with words of love And kisses that fall like the dew Are sent across many distant miles Every twilight from my lips to you. by Allison Chambers Coxsey 2002

Hand Signals

A man and his wife were doing yard work outside. The wife goes inside to take a shower. The husband was still outside and wanted to rake up the leaves on his front lawn, but he couldn't find the damn rake. He yells to his wife, who looks out the upstairs bathroom window, "Where's the rake?" Unfortunately she can't hear him. So he decides to point to his eye (meaning I), points to his knee (meaning need), and then makes raking motions. She has no idea what he means and yells, "What?" So he goes through the whole routine again. She nods, this time, like she understands what he's trying to say and, then, points to her eye, points to her left breast, points to her ass, and points to her crotch. Her husband is totally confused (and somewhat aroused), so he goes into the house, runs up the stairs, and leans his head around the corner. "What did you say?" he asks. She replies, "Eye, left tit, behind, the bush."
There were three little pigs that went to a restaurant for dinner. The waiter came to the table and asked if they would like something to drink. The first piggy said, "I would like a Dr. Pepper." The second piggy said, "I would like a glass of tea," The third piggy said, "I would like a glass of water." When the waiter brought the drinks, he asked if they were ready to order. The first piggy said, would like a Hamburger." The second piggy said, "I would like a Steak." The third piggy said, "I would like a glass of water." When the piggies were finished eating, the waiter asked if they would like some dessert. The first piggy said, "I would like a hot fudge sundae." The second piggy said, "I would like a banana split." The third piggy said, "I would like a glass of water." When the piggies were finished with dessert, the waiter brought their check. Before he left the table, he asked the third little piggy why he only ordered water. (No groans please ) (Scroll down....) (A little farther.....) (Do you really want to know?) (OK.....) The third piggy said, "Well, someone has to go 'Wee wee all the way home.'"

Shake your tail feathers

Like No One Is Watching (Shake Your Tail Feathers) Most of us express our distinctiveness in many ways throughout our lives. Although, as we proudly share our offbeat traits and preferences with the world, we take great pains to downplay those eccentricities we ourselves deem odd. Instead of living lives colored by these quirky impulses, we seek out socially acceptable outlets for our peculiarities. We may not realize that we are editing ourselves in this way because our individual societal awareness is unintentionally attuned to the attitudes of the people we encounter each day. Over time, we have learned to suppress some of the most fun aspects of individuality. To rediscover and embrace these buried traits, we need only ask ourselves what we would do if we knew for certain that no one would judge our choices. Visualizing this day without judgment can help you better understand the idiosyncrasies that are an important part of who you are but seldom manifest themselves in your existence. Perhaps you secretly dream of replacing grown-up, conservative clothing in favor of a changing array of costumes. You may envision yourself painting your car electric-green, hugging the trees in a crowded local park, singing joyous songs as you skip through your community, or taking up an exciting hobby like fire spinning. Try not to be surprised, however, if your imagination takes you in unexpectedly simple directions. In your musings, you may see yourself doing things such as breaking out in dance or dying your hair a fun color. Regardless of the nature of your suppressed peculiarities, ask yourself what is really stopping you from making them a part of your life, and then resolve to incorporate at least one into your everyday existence. Life as we know it is so short. Making the most of years we are granted is a matter of being ourselves even though we know that we will inevitably encounter people who disapprove of our choices. When you shake your tail feathers like no one is watching, you will discover that there are many others who appreciate you because you are willing to let go of any inhibition. By doing this you help others know it is okay. No one else in the world is precisely like you and, each time you revel in this simple fact, you rededicate yourself to the celebration of individuality.
1. Thou shall not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities. 2. Thou shall not be fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to pass. 3. Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them, for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this. 4. Thou shall face each problem as it comes. You can only handle one at a time anyway. 5. Thou shall not take problems to bed with you, for they make very poor bedfellows. 6. Thou shall not borrow other people's problems. They can better care for them than you can. 7. Thou shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill,it is forever gone.Concentrate on what is happening in your life and be happy now! 8. Thou shall be a good listener, for only when you listen do you hear ideas different from your own. It is hard to learn something new when you are talking, and some people do know more than you do. 9. Thou shall not become "bogged down" by frustration, for 90% of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive action. 10. Thou shall count thy blessings, never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one ~By Ruth Bourdon~
