Don't let others tell you what you want or who you are
If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, if your house is on fire; than you have a problem. Everything else is just an inconvenience.
We're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers on the way. I have only one life and it is short enough. Why waste it on things I don't want most.
I don't think God puts on earth to make millions of dollars and ignore everything else. Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point.
It's not what we take but what we give that makes us truly rich. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. We all have special gifts to share with others. Most have been looking in the wrong place trying to find theirs.
To know who you are isn't difficult. Look into the mirror and come to a reality; do you like the person you are. How could you like yourself more? What can you do to truly make yourself a success. To me, money doesn't mean success. So many think if they were rich they would be a success. Success to me is loving the person you are, doing the right thing and trying to make this world a better place one person at a time. Success to me comes from within, the heart of a person. That person could be a hobo living day to day walking the streets. But through my years I have found talking with some of these homeless people, some have the most beautiful souls, hearts and passions for life that truly touch me to know end. To me this is success. Happiness that comes from within. Some of these type people will be the ones who can just walk through those golden gates some day when others are trying to get in but I don't think God takes checks, credit cards or even cash. That's one place where your money means nothing.
