A good example of this concept is the case of the computer science expert who is called in order to fix to a large and extremely complex one computer …
...a computer that was worth more than 12 million than Euro.
The expert, seated of forehead to the screen, presses a pair of keys, allegates with the head, say something to himself and then shut down the computer.
To that point he extracts a small screwdriver from the pocket and gives a turn and means to one very small screw. Therefore, he ignites the computer and verification that all works perfectly.
The president of the company is very happy and offers itself to pay the account immediately. "How much I must" it asks.
"Thousands Euro, please" answers the man.
"Thousands Euro!? Thousands Euro for little minute of job? Thousands Euro in order to tighten one simplest very small screw? I know that the computer is worth 12 million Euro, but thousands Euro me truly seems an exaggerated figure. I will only pay a such figure if a detailed invoice will send me that justifies a figure of the sort.
" The computer expert consents with a signal and he goes away.
The day after the president receives the invoice, the law carefully, immediately allegates with the head and the satisfied one, without complains.
The invoice said:
- Spin of a very small screw: € 1
- To know which very small screw to turn: € 999

Bisogna capire che è sbagliato giudicare un'attività semplicemente per
il tempo che occorre a realizzarla ...
Un buon esempio di questo concetto è il caso dell'esperto informatico
che è stato chiamato per aggiustare un computer molto grande ed
estremamente complesso
... un computer che valeva più di 12 milioni di Euro.
L'esperto, seduto di fronte allo schermo, preme un paio di tasti,
asserisce con la testa, mormora qualcosa a se stesso e spegne il
computer.
A quel punto estrae un piccolo cacciavite dalla tasca e dà un giro emezzo ad una minuscola vite. Quindi, accende il computer e verifica
che tutto funziona perfettamente.
Il presidente dell'azienda e' felicissimo e si offre di pagare il
conto immediatamente.
"Quanto le devo?" chiede.
"Sono Mille Euro, per cortesia" risponde il sistemista.
"Mille Euro?!? Mille Euro per pochi minuti di lavoro? Mille Euro per
stringere una semplicissima vitina? Mi rendo conto che il computer
vale 12 milioni di Euro, ma mille Euro mi sembra una cifra veramente
esagerata. Pagherò una tale cifra solamente se mi manderà una fattura
dettagliata che giustifichi una cifra del genere."
L' esperto informatico acconsente con un cenno e se ne va.
Il mattino dopo il presidente riceve la fattura, la legge attentamente,
asserisce con la testa e la paga immediatamente, senza una lamentela.
La fattura diceva:
- Avvitamento di una vitina: € 1
- Sapere quale vitina avvitare: € 999
