Ok,here goes.I am a 49 yr old Scot,married 9 yrs to a man I rarely see,lol.
I'm an Army wife ,military wife for 25 yrs.My husband and I will finally be together after 3 yrs apart due to Iraq and Germany.
He had to get a compassionate reassignment from Germany to Ft Hood due to the Army not letting my son and I join him in Germany.
My son was misdiagnosed with prevented us from going to Germany but it worked out well as I prefer to stay in Texas as my daughters and Grandchildren are here.
My children are 28,21 and oops 8!
My Grandchildren are 10,8,and 6.
I keep to myself on here as I'm a loner but I dont bite.
I'm not who people seem to think I am,lol.

Scottish Inventors and Inventions

The average Englishman in the home he call his castle slips into his national costume, a shabby raincoat, patented by Chemist Charles Macintosh from Glasgow, Scotland.

En-route to his office he strides along the English lane, surfaced by John Macadam of Ayr, Scotland.

He drives an English car fitted with tyres invented by John Boyd Dunlop, Veterinary Surgeon of Dreghorn, Scotland.

At the office he receives the mail bearing adhesive stamps invented by John Chalmers, Bookseller and Printer of Dundee, Scotland.

During the day he uses the telephone invented by Alexander Graham Bell, born in Edinburgh, Scotland. At home in the evening his daughter pedals her bicycle invented by Kirkpatrick Macmillan, Blacksmith of Thornhill, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.

He watches the news on television, an invention of John Logie Baird of Helensburgh, Scotland, and hears an item about the U.S. Navy founded by John Paul Jones of Kirkbean, Scotland.

Nowhere can an Englishman turn to escape the ingenuity of the Scots.

He has by now been reminded too much of Scotland and in desperation he picks up the Bible, only to find that the first man mentioned in the good book is a Scot, King James VI, who authorized its translation.

He could take to drink but the Scots make the best in the world.

He could take a rifle and end it all, but the breech-loading rifle was invented by Captain Patrick Ferguson of Pitfours, Scotland.

If he escaped death, he could find himself on an operating table injected with penicillin, discovered by Sir Alexander Fleming of Darvel, Scotland, and given chloroform, an anesthetic discovered by Sir James Young Simpson, Obstetrician and Gynecologist of Bathgate, Scotland.

Out of the anesthetic he would find no comfort in learning that he was as safe as the Bank of England founded by William Paterson of Dumfries, Scotland.

Perhaps his only remaining hope would be to get a transfusion of guid Scottish blood which would entitle him to ask:

"Wha's Like Us?"

Too much to state.I enjoy traveling which I've done extensively as a military wife of 25 yrs.
I feel happiest in places like Paris,Brussels etc.I love European culture, the art, lifestyle etc.
I read all the time, while in the bath and eating.....not eating in the bath though, lol.
I love history and WW2 which my Dad fought in with the Royal Navy since he was 16.
I read my son Shakespeare and Dickens as I want to expose him to more things than Spongebob Squarepants.
I love the outdoors, away from people.I fish and hike.I explore caves....one day I'll be sorry for that.
I have friends of all countries and lifestyles.I think the last few decades have been a waste of history.

My Dad is probably my biggest idol.He led an exciting, interesting life.
At 13 he was a cabin boy on a training ship, the old fashioned ones like in the Pirates movie.I cant remember the name of the ship.Anyway he met Prince Philip on there who was also training.
Later he joined the Royal Navy at 16 and was in WW2.He had been to so many different countries and could tell stories about them for hours. He received a medal from Russia for his part in the Convoys, protecting Russia's harbors.
He also received a medal from Queen Elizabeth( BEM)due to his community work with the Sea Cadet Corp. They received their first Colors due to my Dad.
When my Dad died last year the whole town was there with no room in the church for many. The Palace sent a sympathy letter.
My parents were married 52 yrs before my Mother died and when she did my Dad just sat in his favorite chair and waited. His death was no surprise to us as basically he "died" the day my Mother did.
He left behind 9 children( 10 but one died)and 17 Grandchildren and 4 GreatGrandchildren and a lifetime of happy memories.
