SO FAR SO GOOD!

It is time now FOR.....Vic�s UPDATE! 9/21/08

Well folks...it�s been kinda cool the last month. FINALLY got on midnight shift so I can play both Friday and Saturday nights. The band is coming along nicely. Been getting gigs here and there. So if anyone near Columbia or Greenville know of a place....let me know...and thanks ahead of time!

The last place we played, we had a special guest. Our bassist bumped into one of the guitar players from Molly Hatchet and invited him to the gig. I don�t know his name, but everyone there knew who he was, so to me..yeah it was him...lol. He sat in for a few songs, that was fun. He liked the band a LOT, so we�ll see how that pans out. Plus, a gal there knows folks that can help shop around songs...and guess what Vic�s been doing? Like 29 finished songs since I got down here....that includes brushing up and rearranging a few I had on the burner. I still have three I�m futzing with...they�ll be done soon the way things are going. AND...I keep getting new ideas all the time...hell...I wrote up three just last night! Who needs a TV?....LOL...I�m BUSY. So once I get a keyboard I�ll be arranging what�s been floating in my head and getting them recorded. If anyone wants to let me borrow one, donate one or sell one cheap....I won�t say no....lol...and NO I won�t quit the band if the writing works out...I said I wanted to play remember? I was even thinking of auditioning for one of the orchestras around here....haven�t done that in a while, but we�ll see how everything else goes before we take on another project.

So let�s see here now...that�s three things I was looking to do when I got here. Get the job transferred...check....Join a band....check....get deep into writing...BIG check. That leaves drum teaching ....wait...I start teaching THIS WEEK. Just picked up two students and they have friends that are looking to start...SO...that leaves 18 more I�m looking to get for the next �check�. Plus I�m still tooling with an outline(syllabus if you wanna call it that) to shop around the colleges to do some teaching there. That�s the most involved...I knew it would be...but that would be killer if that comes through. In case you haven�t noticed...I love teaching...:-)

As my dad always says...Keep the faith........love on all of you...he didn�t say the last part...I did...;-)

Your chances of being rated WILL NOT IMPROVE just because you call yourself sexy. Showing a lot of skin does NOT make you sexy....especially if you have a LOT of skin...which is just a HUGE turnoff. I think I have a good idea of what sexy is...and nobody's "brought it back"...so get over yourself.Also....if your age is "69"....yeah right.....

Don't even TRY to tell me you "party like a rockstar"....
Been there, done that....WITH rock stars....and trust me...you homie lightweights couldn't hang....LOL

I'm living in Columbia SC wher I'm trying to get back on my feet as far as playing and earning a living. NJ is just TOO expensive a place to live for an area that's dead musically.

I'm divorced with a great 15 year old boy. He's funny as hell and starting to ask more about girls....oh boy....knew that was coming.

I'm putting together a teaching practice so I can ditch corporate life and be my own boss. I have taught drums before, in fact a few of my old students are doing things in music now. I was thinking of doing this before, but after seeing what they were doing, it strengthened my resolve to get back into it. Proud dad complex I guess......:-). Plus I want to get back into the gig scene. I ran blues bands for 12 years, did bookings for others. It was a pain at times, but it was fun and I met a lot of great people along the way. I've been fortunate enough to have recorded on three CD's, one of my own band and two for other people. I'm thinking of doing one more of my own stuff, just to be able to say I did it. I do have recordings of things I wrote on live tapes, but I just want to make it more official.

As far as gigs I've done...I've played in Metal bands, Thrash, Blues bands, Orchestras, Big Bands, Lounge Acts, Wedding bands and even the Mummers Parade. If you're not from the Philly area, go to http://www.mummers.com to see what that's about.

Now for the standard stuff..I go to Ozzfest once a year, it's my metal fix. I'll go to just about any concert that hits my fancy. Some I've seen are Black Sabbath(10x...the original lineup) Gretchen Wilson, Type O Negative, Pearl Jam, Van Halen, Spinal Tap, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Weather Report, Renaissance, Spyro Gyra....I could go on forever. I've also seen Phantom of the Opera and Stomp....both were awesome.

AS far as "non-concert" activities, I like going to the shore or the mountains. Nature has a way of recharging my batteries. Sometimes I'll just get in my car and just GO somewhere. Furthest I ended up was Pittsburgh...lol....hey, it was a nice day and the radio kept coming up with great tunes.
