What is a Dragon?
A Dragon is an enormous, fierce, bloodthirsty creature that appears in fairy tales and legends, primarily as a foil to enhance the hero's valor. Many consider this to be the definition of this obscure and mysterious creature, but the Dragon is also something else.... It is an admirable and intelligent creature with some fascinating characteristics, beyond what we are allowed to glimpse in fairy tales and legends. The Dragon has often been misunderstood, persecuted and hounded simply because it is different. Like so many other living beings, it has suffered death at the hands of "civilized" man. Perhaps in the future, we as humans will learn that the death of a single animal or planet species is a truly irreplaceable loss to the Earth. Only with this kind of heartfelt recognition can Earth continue to be a brilliant, blue jewel in the universe. And at its core will be the priceless understanding of the value of every species, and the duty to cherish every single one.
