My Cancer/How I met my Hubby/ USMC Story

The Corps has always been in my future, I know that when I was a kid always having a reaccuring (spelling ?) dream that would have a Marine in Dress Blues standing there. One day I told my mom (I was about 5) and she asked me to explain the uniform and I did and she said it sounded like the Marine Corps Dress Blues and told me my uncle was a Marine in Vietnam. So I a little later on me being a tomboy figured that's what I was supose to do, so I read all the Marine Corps books I could get my hands on and decided that I was gonna go to college and then go in as an officer b/c the MECEP route can be difficult. It was during my last year of college and I almost died, here a tummor burst inside of me, stage 3 agressive cancer, (stage 4 is terminal.) I got to find out that moriphine and epidurals don't work for me. Also that getting cut open awake hurts (no kidding :P) after 3 scars, one over a ft long going down my stomach and the other 8" long going across it and the other 3" long right under my right shoulder blade..... Well after 4 major opperations and and 2 huge rounds of chemo here I am. One thing that I remember is when I was in that hospital bed people would ask me what I wanted and I would say any info, books, history on the Corps. I'd be holding my gut and walking the hallways of the hospital reading Corps stuff. During chemo, one of the many Corps books I read was "Semper Fi Mac". When I fould out that I had to go through chemo again, that day I met my hubby online and well the doctors told me that if it comes back it's not cureable so to be honest that night I was gonna kill myself b/c there was no way I wanted to go through that again and watch myself die like that. But that day I met my hubby and we just talked about everything but that, it was great so I just couldn't do it. What is the funny part is I heard a voice inside saying this is the man u r gonna marry, I was like yeah right, he's so dorky, LOL. But then I started to recall my dreams and the Marine in my dreams WAS HIM!!!!! I could remember it so clear, crazy right. Well we dated for 8 months and he would drive 600 miles one way from Jacksonville NC just to see me on his 96s and stay up with me all night when I was sick during chemo. He is one amazing Marine!!!!! Through complications I became diabetic, so my dreams of the Corps, well are just that :( (for now anyway.) I hate trying to live through him and seeing WMs and thinking to myself if I only was in, I'd so show u up, LOL. I guess there will always be a fire in me for the Corps. But my life was saved by the Marine I am married too!!!!!! 11 months after we met online we got married July 4, 2005 and then I moved to Jacksonville NC and in Aug he left for his 3rd tour in Iraq. So that's my story long but u asked :P
