One day someone special will be gone. And on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of your bedroom, you might be struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more. No more hugs, no more lucky moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, No more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most goes away. never to return before we can say good-bye, Say "I Love You." So while we have it . . it's best we love it And care for it and fix it when it's broken and take good care of it when it's sick. This is true for marriage .... and friendships ... And children with bad report cards; And dogs with bad hips; And aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, Because we cherish them! Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make us happy, No matter what. Life is important, and so are the people we know. And so, we keep them.

People ask me time to time in private what really stirs my soul and emotions..... Well this movie would be one of them. Silent Running (1972) Staring Bruce Dern Sci-Fi director early George Lucus (Star Wars Fame) you also see the prototype for R2D2 Setting its Future 2010. Forests on earth no longer exist due to pollution Thus in a last attempt to save the bio-diversity of the planet the UN has built a fleet of Domed Greenhouses in which reside the very lasts forests of the Earth. It is decided that it is no longer possible to fund such a large scale program. So the fleet is ordered to return home upon destorying their domed forest green houses. An the thus the fleet begins to jetisen their domes and detenating them with portable nukes. Upon the ship Valley Forge. The crew detenates all but one dome (the very last) when a social introvert and ecologist (Burce Dern) decides to save the very Last Forest. Dern kills his three human crew members (very happy to return home) and fakes a engine malfuction taking the ship into deep space beyond Saturn planning to take the ship into deep space. Dern is left alone drifting in deep space with the very last forest his only companions to keep him company (and sane) are three voiceless yet with personality ship mantiance droids, which he reprograms for the Green House. The Valley Forge remains lost for two years before being discovered by resuce forces. Which means he will have to destory the dome and prepare to be boarded. In a last ditch effort to save the dome and not being discovered as a murder. Dern places the last fuctioning Droid upon the dome to take care of The Forest. Sits down with his two friends (droids) says good bye and detenates the nukes destorying the ship. In this last seen of the movie you see the Dome Greenhouse dirft off into Space.. I'm a introvert, the only time I'm truly at peace is hiking, camping in the Forests... I've literally grown orphaned owls only to experience the ULTIMATE High, releasing him/her back into forest. I once lived a year alone at my brothers cabin (a year after hell raising in High School) in the Hoosier National Forest, my water came from a near bye stream and Solar shower, electricty from mini hydrolectrical dam and the cabin was single room with loft geodestic dome. .. I literally at times would sit on the front pourch and play my flute. Only to have wild Bucks and Does come up to me to pick my pockets for treats.. tickling me half to death.. Under the stars. In spring this city literally helped to deliever new born cafe at near by farm... In the Fall came across to 'good o' boy' hunters that had just killed the buck of the deer couple that had visited me before. Proud of their kill! .... and well I became a RADICAL environmentalist... No didn't kill them, just made them run naked from that Forest, minus their guns and their 4x4 left behind in flames. ;) Valley Forge ..... Over and Out :) Devlinn
