Hey everybody welcome back to my blog. Today we are talking about Melky, Melky, Melky AND the Giant problem in San Francisco. I'm gonna start this off by saying well No Duh....he was the all star game MVP, he was all jacked up on TESTOSTERONE!
I too have had my heart broken by that horrible phrase "he tested positive for performance enhancing drugs".
Remember when Mark Mcgwire came clean about his use of PED's (performance enhancing drugs) I was crushed, and then when they denied him the hall of fame, I was mad.
Every time I saw another player come out associated with PED's I felt a little vindication. Especially when the big names came out (The Rocket, A-Rod, and Sammy). Those guys were in the same class as my hero "Mark Mcgwire".
Here is what most people don't know, until 2006 there wasn't any clear cut drug policies and it wasn't cheating then either, because everybody was doing it. My guy shouldn't be banned because of something that is just now happening. Is Babe Ruth kept out because they didn't allow blacks in baseball? No, how many home runs would the Babe have hit if he had to face guys like C.C. and even back a few years guy's like Vida Blue or Bob Gibson? Isn't that cheating also but it was the norm back then so it wasn't.
Sorry Melky! You don't have that excuse, MLB does have very strict policies on drug use. Numbers are down across all of baseball as a direct result of that. There is no Gray area left, if you use your cheating.
Melky hit a very weak .255 with only 4 homers and 42 RBI's 2 years ago with the Braves. How did everybody not see this sooner. Through 113 games (on the juice) this year he hit near the top with a .346 BA and 11 homers with 60 RBI's. Wow, pretty obvious huh?
I'll finish with Barry Bonds, his legacy still sits at eery home game in Frisco because he was great and because what he did everybody else did also. Now Melky Cabreras #53 should not and I'm sure will not shine to bright from McCovey Cove now or ever.
