I know that tattoos and piercings are all the rage for the last 10 to 15 years.... and I don't get it.
It seems like a shame to take a beautiful (well maybe not always beautiful) piece of skin and cover it with ink or holes that will eventually deform, become a colored smudge, etc.
As an anthropology minor (class of 1982), I keep thinking the phrase: "Ritualized self-mutilation in pursuit of social acceptance."
So what do YOU think of tatts and piercings? Do you love them or could you do without them being everywhere? |
