Stick Shift or Automatic?

Im going to France to live there for a while, ive saved about 30,000 dollars to buy a car..but with 30 grand thats only enough to get a Stick Shift...i cant drive a stick shift..i never learned....so what should i do...save up some more before i leave for france so that i can buy the automatic i want, or should i just buy an automatic here for around 20 grand and ship to to france and with the money left over, pay for customs charges?

P.s : if i ship it...it will take around a month and a half

P.s T he funny thing is stick shifts in the us are very expensive while the automatics arent...but in other countries where its all mainly stick shift they're cheaper than the automatics
