Soon
Soon, the day will come
I feel it in my heart,
when we can be together
and no longer kept apart.
Soon, things will change
no more lonely nights,
for in your arms I'll be
where all is perfectly right.
Soon, the ache will cease
of wanting you here with me,
each morning I'll awaken by your side
a place I have longed to be.
Soon, the tears won't flow
so frequently from my eyes,
for we'll spend our lives together
with no more painful goodbyes.
Soon, two people in love
will be joined through eternity,
overcoming any and all obstacles
that have been set before you and me.
Soon, we'll pledge those sacred vows
coming together as husband and wife,
promising "till death do us part"
this commitment will last beyond life.
Soon, we'll be as one
all our dreams coming true,
we are each others strengths
for you have me...and I have you.
