I have a sister that is 2 yrs younger than I. On 03/12/08 , we came pretty damn close to lossing her. She is an alcoholic, and she knows this, and admits to it. She weights 110 pounds, is 5'2. when they took her to the ER, the doctors was surprised she was still alive. Her alcohol level was 369. There was nothing in her system but alcohol. Her liver is shot, has hebititis of the liver and scorosis. The alcohol has shrunk her brain and fried half her brain cells.
The family went through a week and a half of pure HELL. Doctors, councilor and the family did what is called a Intervention in her hospital room after she through this and was able to understand everything that was told to her. Truth be told I am not sure she even beleives everything we all had to tell her about this situation. Not even what the doctors had to say.
I told her I loved her, needed her to get well and keep herself that way. But! At the end I also told her that if she picked up one more drink I was done. She knows if she does she will be dead in a year. No if, an's, or buts about it. Her body can not take that abuse again.
What I need is to know if you all think I was doing the right thing in what I said to her , or not.
